Body

Dear players,

This week, our original plan was to continue focusing on onboarding and pacing improvements.

However, after reviewing player feedback and gameplay experience in depth, we realized that:

The lack of combat differentiation and character identity has become one of the key factors affecting the overall gameplay experience.

Because of this, we decided to move the “Character Combat Trait Rework” plan forward ahead of schedule.

At the moment, Liu Bei and Zhang Fei’s combat traits have already been implemented, while Guan Yu’s related content is still in development.

These adjustments will not affect story progression or save compatibility.

Character Combat Trait Update

Liu Bei — [Benevolence]

Liu Bei now has a unique “Benevolence” combat system:

  • All damage dealt is reduced by 50%

  • If the enemy has no shield at the end of a round, Liu Bei will automatically trigger [Persuasion] and immediately win the battle

  • Starts with shield points, but shields no longer regenerate after being broken

  • Performing combos restores a percentage of shield based on damage dealt (affected by the [Charisma] attribute)

Liu Bei’s gameplay direction is now more focused on:

“Fast suppression, defense, and survivability.”

Zhang Fei — [Frenzy]

Zhang Fei now has a unique “Frenzy” combat system:

  • The lower his HP, the higher his damage output

  • Receives 100% increased damage (affected by the [Morality] attribute)

  • Has no shields, and shields will not regenerate after being broken or at the end of rounds

  • Performing combos triggers an additional instance of true damage based on a percentage of the combo’s total damage

Zhang Fei’s gameplay direction is now more focused on:

“High risk, high burst, and relentless aggression.”

About Recent Crash Issues

Recently, we identified the cause of frequent crashes affecting some lower-end devices.

We have confirmed that:

The dynamic character cloth system can create significant additional performance and memory pressure on certain hardware configurations.

As a temporary optimization solution:

  • Dynamic character cloth is now disabled globally by default

  • Players who still wish to use the effect can manually re-enable it in the settings menu

We are continuing to work on more complete performance optimizations.

Other Improvements & Fixes

Flow & Experience Improvements

  • In Zhang Fei’s main storyline, speaking with Guard Zhang no longer forces the player to immediately return home to rest

  • Added a new prompt after bounty targets escape, informing players they can search and capture the target again

  • Re-fixed the story progression warning system, which now correctly displays the consequences of forcefully advancing the plot

  • Fixed popup issues while searching for items

Combat & System Fixes

  • Fixed an issue where items obtained from battlefield scavenging were not properly added to the inventory

  • Fixed an issue where the bounty target [Street Hammerman] displayed post-capture effects before being captured

  • Fixed an issue where Zhang Fei’s clue item remained in the inventory after the Hongmen Banquet storyline

UI & Presentation Improvements

  • Improved the smoke effects beneath the main protagonists

  • Fixed subtitle overlap issues when gaining or losing equipment

  • Fixed a double-popup issue near the inn involving Guan Yu

  • Fixed character visibility issues in certain areas of South Zhuo County (Pre-Battle)

  • Correctly replaced several character encyclopedia portraits

  • Refined the Peach Garden Oath dialogue text

Current Development Progress

At this point, we have largely completed the first phase of development priorities:

  • Core gameplay experience fixes

  • High-frequency progression blocker fixes

  • Main flow stability improvements

The project is now entering the next major phase:

Combat Experience & System Depth Improvements

Including:

  • Full combat differentiation between the three protagonists

  • Combat pacing and strategic feedback improvements

  • Expanded combo and attribute counter systems

  • More complete enemy mechanics and information systems

  • Improved balance tuning across combat systems

Overall optimization progress remains on schedule.

We will continue maintaining the current update pace and refining the gameplay experience step by step.

Thank you again for all your support and feedback during this time.
