Patch 8 for TICKDOWN is now available, it includes several gameplay and graphics changes.

Gameplay updates summary:

  • Expanded Air primary ability to become "Aero Shotgun", an attack that release more projectiles when you're moving fast

  • Using Ice Storm to hit a Whirlpool will spawn Ice Meteors inside the Whirlpool

  • Wind Burst now pops Pressure Bubble

  • Black Hole is more useful, it now sucks in targets directly instead of dragging them and looks cooler overall

This update also adds in Blood Splats, which killed enemies will leave on the ground around them. There's some additional changes included as well in this patch.

There's been many other changes as well since the last Roadmap announcement, such as:

  • Level 1 tutorial updated to make mechanics easier to learn

  • Enemy corpses do not dissolve out immediately, they remain active until there are too many active at once

  • Incorrect ragdoll physics direction issues fixed

  • Lighting improvements (mostly making areas brighter, but also adding in shadow-casting lights in some cases)

Here's a roadmap update with remaining important planned features:

  • Post-game difficulty boss fight 1

  • Post-game difficulty boss fight 2

  • Revise appearance of all Menu UIs

  • Using blood for Water abilities

  • Hiskarls should have a linked special ability that demolishes you if you keep any of them alive for too long

  • Dust Explosions

  • Dynamic torches - extinguish them with water, and re-ignite them with fire (matching your current fire color)

  • Rush pushing - rushing into enemies should push them in your movement direction as long as the rush is active

  • Revise Magma (Fire + Earth) combos

  • Add additional Super Abilities

  • "Ultimate" abilities that are unlocked by using Super Abilities

  • Release a modding tool that allows customization of certain game balance parameters (such as movement speeds, ability damage, difficulty, etc.)
