What's New in THYSIASTERY 1.1?

Difficulty Modifiers:

There are 3 new difficulty modifiers to help players customize their experience further

  • Ever-Expanding: adds an additional floor to each stratum and slightly reduces gained experience. Unlocked after 3 total wins. Will be unlocked retroactively if conditions are met.

  • No Monster CriticalsMonsters cannot deal critical strikes. Automatically unlocked, applies negative difficulty rank multiplier if enabled.
  • No Turn LimitExceeding the stratum time limit has no consequences. Automatically unlocked, applies negative difficulty rank multiplier if enabled.

Skills

Added a number of skills, including passive and active ones. Some are upgraded versions of existing ones and can only be obtained through skill development. Some examples include:

  • Blood Ammo: Allows firing even with no ammo remaining, consuming HP instead.

  • Caustic Deluge: high-tier poison cleave spell with a chance to inflict poison and corrosion.

  • Karmic FlowStance. While active, damage dealt is reduced, and a small percentage of that damage heals the ally with the lowest HP.

And there are more than 20 other skills in this update for players to create more varied builds across runs.

Monsters

  • A new variant boss added to the First Stratum, that may appear instead of the usual boss.

  • Added 10 new monsters, scattered at various stratums.

Items

Added 10 new equipment items and 2 consumables, including a hammer that triggers an explosion with every hit.

A New Unique Ally!

A new unique ally can appear at the camp!

Events

Two new events have been added. An alternative to Locked Chest that relies more on intelligence, as well as an event that may occur in late game if the players are having a tough run.

Music

  • Added an ending track and a track that plays after defeating the boss of a stratum.

  • Added and polished several sound effects.

Achievements

12 new achievements have been added. Some of these are unlocked retroactively if players meet the requirements.

Stat Screen

Logbook now includes a Statistics page where you can find information about your runs.

Some of these statistics were tracked before 1.1, while some, like the lowest turn count were not.

Tuning, Polish and Quality of Life

  • Some item and skill descriptions have been updated to be more informative.

  • Overall gameplay improvement based on player feedback.

  • In combat movement: Movement logic has been simplified and move can be used in combat through a skill button.

Player party moves after the movement speed duration has passed. If a monster moves to block the players movement, there will be no time wasted and the movement is interrupted from that point. Enter/exit combat will not take time anymore.

There should be less need to wait for monsters to approach now and kiting away from monsters is more dangerous.

  • Some skills have had their tier reduced or increased and some skills have had numerical or behavioral adjustments. For example, skills that were triggered on their users killing blow now trigger on all adjacent deaths. Railgun now requires ammunition, but has been buffed to compensate, boasting lower turn delay, higher damage and critical rate.

  • Most skills were given visual and audio tweaks.

  • Some monsters have been adjusted, such as third stratum boss and the final boss.

Current Known Issues:

  • A few of the new statuses may not have their tooltips properly yet localized in some languages. We apologize for this and are currently working on these and will patch them as soon as we can.

  • Rarely some passive skills (stances) may stop working. If you encounter this, reloading the game usually resolves the issue. We are still investigating the issue.
