addedOver 200 New Battles!Okay that's another exaggeration, but all 112 current battles now have 2 new variants in addition to the Wrathful and Repelling ones! The first variant is Gloomy battles which add elemental walls to every monster, like the ones found in Null battles. If the battle already featured these walls, then I either added more, or made them even worse in some way. Gloomy battles are mutually exclusive with Wrathful and Repelling battles, so they will overwrite each other if you find multiple burdens with these effects on them.

An "invader" joins in on every single battle, and this can stack with any of the other variants! In many cases, I had to specifically design some of these combinations to avoid having the battle become too unfair.

The idea was to have at least 2 burdens that can activate each of the 4 variants. The 6 new bounties will also be able to activate the new variants, and 2 new stage events that feature these bounties have also been added! And for once, I actually wrote all the memory text for these on time.

This includes all the events that force specific types of bounties or challenges to appear. This was done in preparation for adding towers exclusive stage events, but they are limited to the 3 randomized towers for now. The monster family towers need a little more work to port these events over.

Content Added

  • All monsters now have a Gloomy variant

  • All monsters now have an Invader variant that can stack with the 3 other variants

  • 5 new blessings (Total: 135)

  • 5 new burdens (Total: 125)

  • 6 new Bounty gifts (Total: 54)

  • 2 new stage events (Total: 90)

Other Changes

  • 9 of the currently available stage events can now appear in The Towers

  • Added effects the these Burdens: Roundsaw and Rage Duet

  • Changed the effects of these Burdens: Alter Roundsaw, Null Roundsaw, Ombroah, and Stella

  • Changed the effects of these Blessings: Shiny Knot Knott and Chionotoh

  • Added a small bit to the memories of Nix Polyps and Tox Polyps Blessings to match with the new polyp Blessings

  • Switched around a few quickplay dream unlocks

  • Spicy Fruit is now always unlocked

Bug Fixes

  • Slightly changed the art for Orb of Wrath. Turns out I accidentally used a version with less fire than intended.

  • Staying still to reduce poisoned health did not work in autoscrolling fortress battles

Upcoming Stuff for version 8

These will mostly be happening in this order, but with stage events and elemental reactions for most monsters being sprinkled in throughout

  • Special monsters for Lv 11 and Lv 12

  • Final bosses for the 6 family towers

  • Endless Towers mode

  • Stage events for all Endless Modes and The Towers

  • A mode for playing event minigames outside of story runs

  • A few more story scenes for Her Heart and Defect in Story and Altered Story modes

Next Update

I didn't get to the 2 new special monsters after all, so they will be added in the next update along with anything else I can get done. This will be on May 22nd!
