The Ten Thousand Li Wall changes
Hi! We’d like to tell you about our project.
The idea for the game didn’t come right away. We were looking for a story where construction itself would be the core experience — where economy, labor organization, and people form a single process: large-scale, complex, and continuous. The history of building the Great Wall of China turned out to be exactly that.
Vast scales, thousands of workers, complex production chains, and a constant threat from the north all come together here as one system, where every element matters. We’re not aiming to create a perfectly accurate historical simulator, but it’s important to us to convey the spirit of the era — so that players can feel the nuances of the events they are directly involved in.
What the game is about
This is a real-time economic strategy focused on one of the largest construction projects in human history.
Players will need to build complete production chains: from clay extraction and toolmaking to organizing food and housing for workers, delivering materials to construction sites, and distributing them across warehouses. The goal is to create a functioning system where every link is in the right place and performs its role.
Any mistake — a logistics failure, lack of resources, or poor planning — affects the entire system. When that happens, the massive state machine begins to break down.
Challenges and responsibility
Production is only one part of the challenge. You’ll also need to account for terrain and resource locations, maintain discipline among workers, take care of their well-being, and be ready to repel nomadic raids.
It’s not an easy task. But if you succeed, you won’t just build a wall — you’ll create a reliable line of defense that ensures the security and development of your empire.
