The Silent Kingdom changes
I'd like to offer some updates on how the development for chapter 2 is going. I've been working on mapping, programming, and I'm currently focusing on the script. Script-wise, I'm about to reach the final arch from chapter 2, which happens in the Lectica castle.
Chapter 2 dialogues have been the hardest because there are many variables at play. There isn't a single scene that doesn't make me rack my brains hahaha. For example, recently I wrote a scene that involves my favourite secondary NPC (Christoph), and there were 7 variables I had to take into account, based on past player choices. 7 variables that were changing the way the scene unfolded and kept interferring heavily with the dialogue. I was going crazy.
I often face challenges with the script, but I think this mighty sacrifice of my brain cells will be worth it.
On a side note, there will be maps where backers from the Kickstarter have left their fingerprints, like this cemetery whose tombstones contain messages from backers (this screen is just a WIP, I must still add an NPC).
Last but not least, the usual reminder that my plan is to make chapter 2 and 3 together, and then release the full game, instead of updating it little by little. I also hope to add a CG gallery, tweak some dialogue, and if possible, add a Japanese voiceover!
One step at a time.
