addedFirst of all, apologies for the radio silence the past couple months -- we've been concentrating on responding to feedback from our beta testers instead of new features, and bugfixing and balancing are a bit less glamorous than new features. The good news is that we're finally done with our design pass and starting in the last quality-of-life features, animations, and sprites.
addedWe've also been working on a lot of interface improvements to make some of the older-school mechanics easier to understand. For example, we've added visual indicators for groups of enemies, so that when there are three skeletons on the field, you actually see three skeletons.
changedApart from that, we've been working on a plethora of polish, like improved controller support, menu overhauls, more speed options, hints, autosaves, etc etc -- basically every convenience players should expect from a modern RPG. While we've certainly been taking more time than we'd like to on these items, hopefully the extra shine will show in the final build. This game is a labor of love and we're all really looking forward to getting it out there.

First up, we're working on special battle animations for each boss and for high-level magic attacks. Hopefully these should give bosses a bit of flair, and lend a sense of accomplishment to unlocking the strongest magic. Here's a few we're proud of, first for RIME, second for VORTEX:
