Update 0.9 – What’s New?

You might wonder why we’re already at 0.9 when the last big update was 0.8.

Honestly, it’s because a lot of the repetitive work is finally wrapped up, and many systems that were half-done before are now fully completed.

Long story short, here’s what’s coming in 0.9.

New Content

Main Story

The entire main storyline of The Righteousness: SanGuo is now fully implemented and can be played from start to finish.

Four Elemental Whips

Spring Fountain Whip (Black Tortoise)

Adds a water effect. Enemies hit will enter a freezing-like state and move slower.

Blazing Fire Whip (Vermilion Bird)

Adds a fire effect, greatly increasing attack power and giving you a clear edge in combat.

Thunderclap Whip (Azure Dragon)

Adds an electric effect, extending the whip’s attack range and similarly boosting your fighting ability.

Stonebreaker Whip (White Tiger)

Adds an earth/crushing effect, increasing knockback distance. Very useful against agile melee enemies.

You’ve probably guessed it — these powers are rewards for defeating the four giant bosses. They also interact with specific world mechanisms:

  • Spring Fountain Whip can extinguish walls covered in burning flames.

  • Blazing Fire Whip can burn down wooden barriers.

  • Thunderclap Whip can activate malfunctioning mechanism doors.

  • Stonebreaker Whip can smash cracked rocks.

With these abilities, players can return to earlier areas, unlock new routes, and explore more secrets.

Changes

Combat System

Heavy Attack The heavy attack is no longer charge-based. It now triggers with Up + Attack. This makes it easier to use during combat.

Heavy attacks consume stamina but deal higher damage.

All four whips can be combined with heavy attacks. They’ll cost even more stamina, but the payoff in clearing enemies is worth it.

Summary

The game is getting very close to a full release. I’ll continue polishing and fixing small issues before the final version.

Since the player base is small and I’m doing QA by myself, there may still be bugs. If you find anything, please don’t get mad — just reach out to me directly. I’ll fix issues as soon as I can.

Thank you all for the support!
