changedUnit Weight and Movement SpeedFun fact about The Rebellion; every item and resource has a weight value associated with it. This isn't something we've ever put front and center, and because of the Early Access state we're in, we haven't had the chance to really start utilizing this in gameplay. With Armor being a bit more powerful due to the recent changes, we've now made the weight of a unit's equipment change how fast he can move.
changedUnit Weight and Movement SpeedLight encumberment
changedUnit Weight and Movement SpeedA pretty simple calculation happens; the Strength of the unit is " weighed " against the total weight of the unit, and if he doesn't meet a certain threshold his movement speed will be encumbered. ( Up to 30% ) This change will make the heavier sets a little less mobile, especially on weaker units such as the Guardsman.
changedUnit Weight and Movement SpeedFull encumberment
changedUnit Weight and Movement SpeedOn the other end of things, if you do meet the weight threshold, your movement speed will now be increased relative to your Agility; once again by up to 30%. This change particularly effects Agacite armor; you can get some pretty speedy units now with the significant Agility bonus offered by this armor.

Unit Weight and Movement Speed

Fun fact about The Rebellion; every item and resource has a weight value associated with it. This isn't something we've ever put front and center, and because of the Early Access state we're in, we haven't had the chance to really start utilizing this in gameplay. With Armor being a bit more powerful due to the recent changes, we've now made the weight of a unit's equipment change how fast he can move.

Light encumberment

A pretty simple calculation happens; the Strength of the unit is "weighed" against the total weight of the unit, and if he doesn't meet a certain threshold his movement speed will be encumbered. (Up to 30%) This change will make the heavier sets a little less mobile, especially on weaker units such as the Guardsman.

Full encumberment

On the other end of things, if you do meet the weight threshold, your movement speed will now be increased relative to your Agility; once again by up to 30%. This change particularly effects Agacite armor; you can get some pretty speedy units now with the significant Agility bonus offered by this armor.

The New Stat Page

The new stat page!

Now that we have some of these more complex mechanics in place, we've taken the time to redo the Hero stat page to more clearly relay information. You can see things like your attack and movement speed, your armor penetration, critical damage, or equipment now.

We also saw that it was a bit difficult to understand exactly how our Armor and Deflection systems work; so we've put in a calculator for both the offensive and defensive capabilities of your equipment in the stat page as well.

Lastly, we've made it more obvious when a Hero Levels up or has stat points to spend. Believe it or not, most players don't even know that the Hero can level up; let alone how the stats interact with the sandbox. This was our fault, and we're gonna continue working harder to present the systems and information of the game more clearly to players.

Other Changes

-Made changes to the Bromnium and Agacite armor sets in order to reflect the new weight system -Units will now have decreased attack speed when wielding weapons that are too heavy for them to use (-1% for every Strength point beneath weapon weight, up to -30%) -Decreased the invulnerability time of recovering units to 1 second from 2.5 seconds -Units will now be vulnerable to crits while recovering for 2.5 seconds from 1 second -Improved poise break to be a lot more reliable; units will fall through the world much less often now
