⚠️ IMPORTANT

Because of this major technical update, all save data will be reset. However, if you insist on keeping your old progress, you can manually migrate it. Just follow the Recovery Guide below to bring your data back!

Before you download the update, you need to manually extract your old save files.

Step 1: Backup (Before Update)

Navigate to your SteamLibrary folder and locate the The Night Job - Hotel directory. From there, find and copy the following two files to a secure location (e.g., your Desktop):

  • [c]SaveSettings.sav[/c]

  • [c]SaveGame.sav [/c]

Step 2: Update & Initialize

Update the game to the latest version on Steam. Afterwards, launch the game until you reach the Main Menu, then Exit immediately to allow the new folder structure to initialize.

Step 3: Restore Progress

Move the two backup files ([c]SaveSettings.sav[/c] and [c]SaveGame.sav[/c]) back into the game’s save directory. Select"Overwrite"if prompted by Windows.

Note: If you get a"Fatal Error"on the first launch, don't panic! Just open the game a second time and everything will be back to normal.
