What changed

  • Gameplay
addedThe update adds:
addedThe Strange and Sinister Tale of the House at Desert Bridge, no achievements but the first new build in ages that lets the game actually run again
changedThese versions include various changes and improvements for consistency, especially Desert Bridge, which was written a long time ago, before my understanding of the Lands of Dream had fully formed. (Or formed to its current degree - I suppose Oneiropolis is always changing.)
addedOf course I've already found two new problems in The Fabulous Screech, and there may well be others. But the entire package, now renamed The Lands of Dream, only costs one dollar now, so hopefully the DIY nature of the whole thing may be excused. These games were made in a different era, using frankly primitive tools, by someone who is a writer and designer but very much not a programmer.
addedMy next steps will be adding various extras, such as the Oneiropolis Compendium, and of course The Council of Crows.

You may have noticed some changes to the entry for The Sea Will Claim Everything. It's been a very slow process, but I've finally taken a step towards my ultimate goal of having the entire Lands of Dream cycle available on Steam as one download. This is both to make the games easier to find and for the sake of game preservation in general. My ability to keep these games functional is sadly lessening over time, and it would be a shame if they were permanently lost.

The update adds:

  • The Book of Living Magic, now with achievements

  • The Fabulous Screech, now with achievements

  • A Postcard from Afthonia, now with achievements

  • The Strange and Sinister Tale of the House at Desert Bridge, no achievements but the first new build in ages that lets the game actually run again

  • The Matter of the Great Red Dragon, standalone exe version with no achievements

These versions include various changes and improvements for consistency, especially Desert Bridge, which was written a long time ago, before my understanding of the Lands of Dream had fully formed. (Or formed to its current degree - I suppose Oneiropolis is always changing.)

A completely free version without Steam integration will also be made available at some point in the next few months, outside of Steam.

My next steps will be adding various extras, such as the Oneiropolis Compendium, and of course The Council of Crows.
