Update 1.2.5

Final Update – Development Complete

Hello everyone! After a very intense month of January, we’ve spent time polishing and fixing small issues that could negatively affect the player experience. This update focuses on improving stability, gameplay consistency, and several important atmospheric details.

Changes and Fixes

  • 100 Darts Achievement fixed. Although we know many of you enjoy playing (and aiming well), some players were unable to unlock the achievement despite hitting the bullseye 100 times. A bit frustrating. The achievement now unlocks correctly.

  • Puzzles reviewed. Some puzzles had inconsistencies in their resolution. They have been reviewed and adjusted to work properly.

  • Fastest run statistic adjusted. Some players were surprisingly fast… because the game was counting escaping instead of winning. The statistic now correctly reflects completed runs.

  • Closets. New adjustments to prevent bugged situations when entering and exiting closets.

  • Improved ambient audio. Dripping sounds and whispers have had their volume increased to better guide players during the clue phase.

  • Front door. The escape trigger could be activated at the entrance door. Naturally, this was not the intended way to escape. Fixed.

  • Stairs and railings. A small pixel on the railing could slow the player down. While an old house can logically have splinters, this could frustrate escapes. Railings have been polished.

  • General optimization. Several mapping and house settings have been optimized to reduce system load. As always, multiple graphic settings are available to adapt the game to your hardware.

  • Music looping enabled. For players who enjoy listening to music, the main menu track and the BONG machine now play in a loop.

  • Time stop after freeing a soul fixed. Time should stop after freeing a toy’s soul, allowing players to explore the house or take a moment to breathe. In some runs, time didn’t stop, causing the player to faint and fail the run. This has been fixed.

  • More stable game start. Moving the mouse during loading could cause players to start the game looking at the ceiling, the floor, or their own back. The screen is now locked during loading.

  • Soul release behavior fixed. In some cases, freeing a soul did not stop the toy. This should never happen: once freed, the toy should become an empty “shell.” Fixed.

  • BONG. This machine reveals secrets about the toys. If you read the note on the screen, you’ll understand.

  • Texts and localization. Spanish and English are the main languages. Remaining menu typos and wording issues have been corrected.

End of Development

With version 1.2.5, The House of Toys reaches its final state. There will be no further content updates, but the house remains open for anyone who wishes to explore it, uncover its secrets, or experience the game in its most polished and complete form.

Thank you to everyone who played and supported this project.
