🎰 The House Always Wins — Demo Release Patch Notes
We’re excited to launch the Demo version of The House Always Wins!
This update is a major milestone and introduces core gameplay systems, a huge UI and interaction overhaul, new content, major economy changes, and many fixes based on internal testing and early feedback.

✨ New Features & Major Additions
Character Customization Players can now create a personal character and change clothing.
Staff System Players can now hire staff to help run their casino.
New Progression System Introduced a brand-new progression system to support long-term gameplay.
NPC Visual Variety NPCs now have more unique appearances and visual diversity.
Strange & Special Guests Encounter aliens, familiar characters, new vandals, and other unusual visitors.
Player Actions & Consequences Players can now drink and smoke — with consequences 😄
Weapons & Combat
Added weapons to the game
Players can attack NPCs
NPCs now die when hit
Added ragdoll physics for NPCs
Players can now buy 10 items at once
Twitch Integration
Added Twitch integration for interactive streaming features.
🧱 Building, Customization & Environment
Added snapping when placing objects for easier and more precise building.
Added new decoration items.
Added new customization materials.
Painting walls, floors, and ceilings now remembers the last selected material.
Added camera shake and tool animations.
Added third-person animations for tools and items held in the player’s hands.
🎮 UI, Controls & UX Improvements
Removed the Pie Menu for tools and replaced it with Hot Slots.
Unified interaction keys across the entire game.
Performed a major UI overhaul for improved clarity and consistency.
Players can now open the inventory with the “I” key.
Decreased duration of Thumbs Up / Thumbs Down animations.
Added new animations and updated existing ones.
Improved localization across the game.
Significantly reduced client-side latency for smoother and more responsive gameplay.
🎵 Audio & Visual Feedback
Added new sounds and music.
Added visual feedback for money won or lost on Slot Machines.
Slot Machine wins and losses now correctly count toward player statistics.
📜 Quests & Economy
Added new quests.
Rebalanced existing quests.
Reduced trash spawn chance to improve quest flow.
Reworked the overall game economy to improve balance and progression pacing.
⚙️ Performance & Optimization
Further game optimization for improved performance and stability.
🐛 Bug Fixes
Fixed an issue where joining from Steam while the game was closed could leave players stuck in the main menu.
Fixed mop animations.
Fixed the ability to open multiple Statistics windows at the same time.
Fixed a bug where placing an object on the floor between the player’s legs could launch the player.
Fixed UI stacking when opening the Bug Report tool from the Settings menu.
Fixed a crash caused by entering only spaces in the Casino Sign name.
Fixed missing outline on the Open/Close Casino sign.
Fixed item lock state not syncing correctly on the client.
Fixed rare cases where the Bug Report tool failed to send reports.
Fixed trash spawn issues that could prevent quest completion.
Fixed incorrect UVs and patterns on some walls.
Fixed a bug where hints did not disappear after picking up a bag.
Fixed the Start button showing a white outline only after hovering once.
