Steam post imageHello hello, Hikers!

What a whirlwind it’s been since the Mariner update! The team has been heads down reading your feedback, squashing bugs, and making changes so we want to give our community an update to address some of the biggest issues we’ve seen players report, particularly the save issues that have been reported.

Since Mariner we have fixed these save issues:

  • SAVE issue: Multiplayer locations are now saved and loaded as expected - There are instances where client data is not saved. One known issue is if the host continue to play after client leaves & then saves that.

  • FIX - SAVE issue: Kayak and Outboard boat Inventory is now saved and loaded as expected

  • FIX - Kayak and Outboard boat attachments now SAVE correctly

  • FIX - Field Lab Charlie solar panel interaction now SAVE correctly

  • FIX - Red Cooler now SAVES

Alongside these save issues we have also done 54 Changes, Bug Fixes, QOL adjustments & more overall!

We know every patch is not perfect, if you encounter a patch being difficult, let us know and give us time to put out a fix :)

First and foremost, we want to acknowledge that we completely understand how frustrating this is. Losing saved data can suck the fun out of the experience and this is why we want to make sure we address it directly! We have said from the very beginning that our goal is to create a fun game for our players to enjoy and we continue to stand by this goal. With Fairview Games being a team of 6 and The Gold River Project being in active development, unfortunately bugs are expected and we get to them as quickly as we can! Right now, these save issues are our top priority. As we dig into what could be causing these, we are also prioritizing which save issues are the most fun-stealing. For example, our designated bug squashers are currently digging into the save issues with tent storage, protective case storage, and video settings at the top!

We really do appreciate the feedback we receive. As a small, self funded team, we really cannot express enough how much we rely on your feedback during the development stage! We really want to make sure you all know we’re listening and working toward improving the experience and thank you for your patience as game development can be a (stressful) rollercoaster ride. Happy Hiking!
