# PDT 2026.05.15 (Fri) 03:00 – The example content for Archive Shard has been revised to be easier to understand.
Greetings, Descendants!
To ease the Research and item farming burden for New Descendants, after the 5.21 (Thu) Update 1.3.28,
an Amorphous Material overhaul will take place.
Previously, opening an Amorphous Material would allow the acquisition of 1 of several Research Materials,
but after the update, the structures will be improved to allow the acquisition of 1 of the key materials required for a specific Descendant, Fellow, or Equipment Research.
This will allow Descendant and Equipment Research to be more easily and quickly progressed.
As a result, after the 5.21 (Thu) update, only the overhauled new Amorphous Materials can be acquired,
and existing Amorphous Materials will no longer be acquirable, so please keep this in mind.
Additionally, alongside this improvement, a new item called an "Archive Shard" will be added to enhance accessibility for Descendant and Equipment Research.
The "Archive Shard" is an item that can be acquired by playing content at Infiltration Operation Hard Difficulty or above,
and it can be used as a substitute for the Crafting Materials required to Research some Descendants and Ultimate Weapons.
This will make it easier to craft Descendants and Ultimate Weapons.
Additionally, the "Archive Shard" can also be used as a substitute for Weapon and Reactor Enhancement Materials.
■ Amorphous Material Overhaul Details
- Existing Amorphous Materials: Acquire 1 of several Research Materials
- Overhauled Amorphous Materials: Acquire 1 Code, Spiral Catalyst, Stabilizer, or Enhanced Cells required for a specific Descendant, Equipment, or Fellow Research
