Exile Princes: News & What Next

Hi all, just a post to update people on what's next. As I said when tEP was releasing, where the game went next would depend in large part on the community and feedback available.

fixedHowever, I don't want to leave people here in the lurch - there will be more updates coming for this game as well. I had been looking at rushing patch 2 out in late January or early February, but right now it's only got one minor late-game bugfix compared to patch 1, so that may come out soon as a hotfix leaving the actual patch 2 for some feature tweaks people have requested. In particular I'm looking at whether there's a neater way to do sound settings, as a couple of people have found the hotkey system for that tricky, and whether I can put an accessibility contrast override of some kind on the text readouts for people who need that. I'm looking at sitting down and having a better crack at those changes, and possibly making some content additions, in late February or early March. I'm not sure what content people most want more of in the game, so if you're playing and have an opinion on that, please let me know.

In general, that's been at quite low levels, so I'm largely focus-shifting to the next game project. I can't confirm details of that yet, still very much in prototyping phase, but I'm excited about the possibilities I'm looking at and - albeit in very different ways to the Exile Princes - starting to build another interesting and unusual take on a medieval fantasy world for people to explore.

Thanks to all of you who've played this weird little game, especially the fifty or so of you who've put upwards of three hours of your lives into exploring the Exile Realms - I'm glad you found something that spoke to you in this world I built. Until next time!
