Thank you for always playing End of History.

As we reach the end of March, I'd like to share a report on this month's activities and our plans for April.

March Activities: A Month of Listening to Players

As mentioned in the February Developer Letter, we spent March focused on reviewing and redesigning the "observing history" experience.

Rather than rushing into implementation, this was a month dedicated to thoroughly understanding the current state of things and organizing the challenges we face.

◆ Discord Community Survey

We conducted a survey within our Discord community targeting existing players.

Many of you took the time to carefully answer questions like "What do you enjoy?", "Where do you feel friction?", and "What are you looking for?" Thank you to everyone who participated in the survey.

◆ Individual Player Interviews

Based on the survey responses, we held voice call interviews with several players to hear their thoughts in greater depth.

We were able to directly hear about the "feeling of playing" and "gaps between expectations and reality" that can't be conveyed through text alone, it was an incredibly valuable experience. Thank you again to everyone who participated.

◆ Third-Party Play Observation

We arranged for people outside the development team to play the game while we observed.

This is an important process for discovering "friction that the creators can't see." Through these observations, we were able to identify multiple areas for improvement in the overall usability and flow of the game experience.

◆ Gamepad Support Planning

Regarding gamepad support, we have been in discussions with a new external development partner to explore a concrete implementation plan.

We have received requests for gamepad support for some time now, and we are steadily moving forward toward making it happen. We will share more details about the implementation once they are finalized.

◆ Additional Character Illustrations

Work on additional character illustrations is progressing in collaboration with our illustrator. We expect to deliver these in the April update, more details below.

April Plans

Building on the research and discussions from March, we will be moving into the implementation phase starting in April.

However, there are still many unresolved questions about "what to update and how," and we are not yet in a position to share specifics.

The overall direction is clear, but we will share the concrete details as soon as they are finalized.

◆ Character Illustration Teaser

We are sharing a preview of the character illustrations currently in development here in this Developer Letter.

(Images are subject to change as they are still in development)

They are scheduled to be officially added in the end-of-April update. We hope you look forward to it.

◆ Mid-April: Bug Fix Update

We are planning to release an update focused primarily on bug fixes around mid-April.

We continue to prioritize maintaining and improving a "stable, playable state" for everyone.

◆ Late April: Character Illustration Addition + Gameplay Improvement Update

Around the end of April, we are aiming to deliver a larger update that includes the addition of character illustrations.

Beyond adding illustrations, we also plan to incorporate gameplay improvements identified through the research and observations conducted in March.

Closing

This month, rather than focusing on game development, we spent much of our time listening to players and reexamining the game from the outside.

We believe the time spent carefully facing these challenges will pay off in the updates from April onwards.

We look forward to your continued support of End of History.
