The Crimson Contract: Patch 0.9.2

Patch 0.9.2 is mostly multiplayer and cutscene fixes from recent playtests, plus a new Town intro and some menu cleanup. We push these out regularly, so keep the reports coming!

What's New

  • A new intro cutscene plays the first time your squad rolls into Town Easy, with Bishop setting the scene before the shooting starts.

Improvements

  • Reworked the player health and stamina bars, both the floating bars above your squadmates and the ones on your HUD, with cleaner framed sprites that read better at a glance.

  • Provision badges are clearer: thicker tier borders, empty slots dimmed so they stand out from gear you already own, and equipping a higher tier now swaps in cleanly.

  • You can now toggle the FPS counter on or off in Settings > Video.

  • Demo players now have the smoke grenade and the standard grenade available.

Balance & Tuning

  • Forest now has to be cleared on Easy, then Medium, then Hard before its Last Stand opens up, so the Last Stand's story beats land in the right order.

Bug Fixes

  • Fixed multiplayer cutscenes that could hang the whole squad on the "Waiting for other players" screen, including when players had seen different intros. The waiting panel also no longer sticks around after everyone is ready.

  • Fixed the rescue helicopter sometimes leaving before everyone's end-of-rescue dialogue had cleared.

  • Fixed joining players sometimes seeing the wrong zone or difficulty in the menu instead of the host's actual selection.

  • Fixed a kicked player still showing up for the other clients in the lobby and carrying over into the match.

  • Zombie melee attacks now line up with where the zombie actually is, cutting down on hits that seemed to come from nowhere.

  • Fixed the rocket launcher's projectile visual not matching the real rocket, so hits land where you would expect.

  • Skeleton enemies now take hits properly on their hands and head.

  • Teammate AI no longer freezes standing over a downed player when a revive fails to start. They back off and try again.

  • Fixed menu focus getting lost after inviting a friend, so controller navigation keeps working.
