The Crazy Hyper-Dungeon Chronicles changes
Over the past few weeks we have read every comment every discussion every review with great attention. Many players pointed out that some combat encounters felt too difficult or in some cases even frustrating. Our intention was never to create unnecessary barriers simply some dynamics become clear only when the game reaches thousands of different players. We are a small team and this first month of observation has been incredibly valuable.
We decided to rework parts of the combat system and the overall balance focusing on three main areas.
1. Balance improvements and healing resources
Some enemies have been nerfed based on player feedback and we adjusted the distribution of healing potions in the most critical areas of each level. Situations like "I ran out of everything and I am stuck at the start of a tough level how do I survive?" should no longer happen. This change aims to reduce frustration without altering the intended challenge.
2. The new Easy Mode
Until now there was only one difficulty setting which we now call Regular. The real novelty is the addition of a Easy Mode designed for players who want a more accessible experience without losing the essence of the combat system.
After selecting a profile (Resolver Explorer or Destroyer) players can now choose whether to start in Regular or Easy Mode.
This choice can be changed at any time during the playthrough.
Easy Mode significantly changes the experience:
the hero's base stats are higher
QTEs are slower and easier to manage
it becomes easier to deal damage and defend
some enemies are more likely to flee
The goal is to allow anyone to progress through combat without unnecessary roadblocks while keeping the identity of the game intact.
The Destroyer is a special case. This profile does not benefit from Easy Mode or from the nerfs applied to the other profiles. It keeps a deliberately very high difficulty level and before starting the game clearly warns the player about this giving the option to step back.
3. Retry defeated battles immediately
This was one of the most requested features. If you lose a battle you can now retry it immediately without having to replay the entire level. It is a simple change on paper but it has a huge impact on the flow of the game.
Players in Regular Mode can also choose to retry the same encounter by switching to Easy Mode. This addition aims to remove potentially frustrating moments and give players more control.
The Destroyer can also retry a battle but cannot change the difficulty which is consistent with the extreme nature of this profile.
We implemented all these changes because during this first month we paid attention to everything. Forum posts reviews gameplay videos livestreams. Every critique helped us understand where to intervene and every encouragement pushed us to improve. It has been constant intense work and we are truly grateful to everyone who played and shared their experience. Today the game is more accessible clearer and better balanced thanks to all of you.
And for those who want the real challenge The Destroyer stays true to its identity. In fact we will reveal important new features dedicated to the Destroyer very soon.
Stay tuned. The Dev Team
P.S. We also improved the display options for large screens by adding the new fullscreen (pixel perfect) mode. This allows the game to be enlarged as much as possible without any stretch or blur while keeping the original sharpness.
