The Clubies changes
First off, thank you for all the new wishlists and to everyone who’s stuck with us over the years. Your support keeps this project going. 💙
Announcement: we’re taking part in Steam Next Fest on October 13. We’re shipping a big update for the event, and we’re pouring a ton of time and care into the game. We hope you’ll love what’s coming.
Release date: we’re aiming to launch on January 14, 2025.
In the meantime, keep building those Community Levels! If you’d like to support us, please share the game with your friends, especially during Steam Next Fest. The more players we have, the more visibility we get.
Alright onto the patch notes for this build:
Major updates
New objective: “Cluby count” (major gameplay impact). Levels now require reaching the goal with a specific number of Clubys; the UI has been overhauled to clearly show target and progress.
New Campaign Menu: Fresh structure and navigation for campaign content.
- Level SelectionController support. Controller-native navigation added; includes integrated filtering & sorting flows. WIP: Full controller support for the game.
Main Menu: Controller fixes. Consolidated improvements for selection, navigation, and hover behavior.
New materials. Metal, LED Stripes, and Gradient Floor (incl. updated gradient assets and material images).
In-game audio updates. Editor SFX additions and tuning; conversions and volume/mix adjustments; better audio transitions (e.g., Game Over fade).
UI changes (bundled)
Highlights & History categories (including improved History and activated buttons), general navigation cleanups, placeholder/background fixes, controller-specific UI tweaks (e.g., hide search/text), screenshot-mode polish, and localization touch-ups.
Bug fixes & stability
Level Selection robustness (e.g., switching categories, loading new levels, ensuring a selection when switching input, filter reset behavior).
Controller scrolling & highlighting (sort direction scrolling, scroll highlight, repeated navigation).
Tag & filter edge cases (first tag auto-select, tags after deselecting filter, mouse filter fixes).
Startup/visual glitches (initial black screen, background/placeholder image issues).
Loading & file/path quirks (cancellation during level loading, using “_” instead of “/”, empty local club failing to load).
Misc UI regressions (category shrinking on controller exit, button icons, Y-button in categories except Community).
Party continue cooldown; “essence” no longer attracts when not over ground.
