Hi there! This is the FireWo Game Studio & LightningGames publishing team. March has been a busy yet fulfilling month for us. On the development side, our team has expanded to over 50 members, and we're making rapid progress on content development. On the publishing side, we've been preparing for the game's continued promotion and community-building efforts. Of course, the most exciting part of this month was taking The Bustling World to GDC, marking the game's first-ever overseas offline appearance!

GDC - Global Game Developers Conference | San Francisco, USA

From March 19th to 21st, The Bustling World was showcased at GDC. The event brought us many valuable experiences and interesting encounters, and we'd love to share them with you:

  1. When going through customs, the customs officer knew about The Bustling World! During the booth setup, even the patrolling police officers recognized the game and asked us for more details. Throughout the entire GDC, many attendees mentioned that they had already added it to their wishlists and were pleasantly surprised to see it at the event!

  2. While The Bustling World is still relatively unknown in the Western game industry, many industry peers showed a strong interest in the game and approached us for more information.

  3. The booth design complemented the game's content perfectly and attracted a large crowd from the National Pavilion area, creating a lively atmosphere. Many attendees' first reactions were "Wow, fantastic!", "Beautiful!", and "Unique art!"—the game's art style and visual presentation received high praise.

  1. On Twitter, we also received positive feedback and excitement about the game from industry peerss. The images below are from the Director of Sony XDEV and Communications Director and Publishing Manager of PalWorld. Thank you for sharing!

  1. Many attendees brought up the Three Kingdoms and Tang-Song dynasties, and we were thrilled to see how Chinese culture is becoming more recognized overseas with no apparent culture gap. One developer even emailed us after the event to share how deeply the game resonated with him and his connection to Chinese culture, "The artistry, the storytelling—it all resonated deeply with me." This really touched us.

  2. The enthusiasm from attendees was overwhelming! We brought 500 brochures and 350 giveaways, and we nearly ran out on the first day.

  1. GDC also turned out to be a great recruiting opportunity. Many international students and overseas industry professionals expressed interest in joining or supporting our team, with some even offering to relocate to China and Chengdu to work on The Bustling World.

  2. As most attendees were industry professionals, we received many technical questions about aspects like rendering techniques, CPU/GPU thread optimization, etc. This also allowed us to meet many tech experts!

And with that, our GDC journey has come to a successful close! From the recognition of our game by international audiences, to professional exchanges with industry peers, and the appreciation of Chinese culture—every bit of feedback has been incredibly encouraging. Thank you for the support and connections that have made what we're doing even more meaningful.
