The Bell Echoes has released the May 30 update patch.
This update mainly fixes several issues in the latest version, and includes adjustments and optimizations for Chris, Muge’s talent, the Lava Volcano boss 【Fire-Breathing Dragon】, and the Lava Volcano stage performance.
In addition, the Demo available on the Steam store has also been updated. The updated Demo includes the early story and tutorial improvements from the recent major update, along with quality-of-life improvements such as save file management.
Bug Fixes
Fixed a Freeze Issue Related to 【Appraisal Master】
Fixed an issue where refreshing Gem Chest choices in the latest version could cause the game to freeze when the Monastery feature 【Appraisal Master】 was active.
【Appraisal Master】 effect description:
Appraisal Master
When opening a Gem Chest (upon stage clear), the selection can be reset.
Fixed Chris’s Insight Effect Not Triggering
Fixed an issue where the following effect from Chris’s 【Contract · Dragon Soul Crystal】 Insight could fail to trigger properly:
“【Dragon Crystal】 inflicts 3 stacks of 【Burning】 when it is hit by a collision, and adds 1 random item to the item inventory.”
Character and Talent Adjustments
Muge Talent Adjustment
The following Muge talent has been replaced:
Previous talent:
Flame Penetration: When self deals fire damage, inflict 3 【Will Penetration】.
Replaced with:
Scorched Earth Enlightenment: Each 【Flame Terrain】 grants self +0.5 Magic Power. The stat bonus also disappears when the terrain disappears.
Adjustment Notes: This change aims to make the synergy between Muge and 【Flame Terrain】 more intuitive. Compared with the previous simple penetration effect, the new talent turns active Flame Terrain into a battlefield resource that continuously affects Muge’s damage output.
Chris and Fire Dragon Adjustment
The 【Fire Dragon】 summoned by Chris now starts with 50 Ultimate Gauge when it appears.
Adjustment Notes: This change allows the Fire Dragon to enter its core combat rhythm more quickly after being summoned.
Enemy and Stage Adjustments
Lava Volcano Lower Floor Boss 【Fire-Breathing Dragon】 Passive Adjustment
Adjusted the passive effect of the Lava Volcano lower floor boss 【Fire-Breathing Dragon】.
New passive:
【Sky Sovereign】
The Fire-Breathing Dragon always moves before executing its intent.
Placed objects along its movement path will be destroyed.
Units along its movement path will be launched airborne and struck by a special attack, dealing physical damage at 80% potency (Strength).
When HP falls below 50%, the Fire-Breathing Dragon enters 【Berserk State】.
【Berserk State】:
If self is the highest unit on the field and the sole highest unit, skill intent becomes a field-wide effect.
【Aberrant Passive】:
The movement path tiles change in real time based on enemy positions.
Units launched airborne are inflicted with 2 stacks of 【Burning】 and 1 stack of 【Vulnerable】.
Adjustment Notes: After this adjustment, the Fire-Breathing Dragon’s action logic should be clearer. It will more actively pressure the battlefield through movement, and further expand its skill threat when it secures a height advantage.
The Aberrant Passive further reinforces this behavior by making the Fire-Breathing Dragon’s movement path change in real time based on player positioning, while also applying additional debuffs to units it launches airborne. We hope this better fits its role as a high-altitude suppression-type boss, while giving players clearer tactical goals when countering it.
Text, Stage, and Performance Optimizations
Chris Skill Description Optimization
Optimized the description hints for 【Human-Dragon Link】 in some of Chris’s skills, making the related effects clearer and easier to understand.
Lava Volcano Stage Optimization
Optimized the Lava Volcano stage to improve visual smoothness during certain battles.
Demo Update
The Demo available on the Steam store has also been updated.
This Demo update includes the early story and tutorial improvements from the full version’s recent major update, along with quality-of-life improvements such as save file management.
If you have not tried The Bell Echoes yet, you can experience the early content through the updated Demo. We hope the new Demo will help new players understand the game’s basic rules, character controls, and combat rhythm more smoothly.
Thank you all for your feedback on the new version.
We will continue fixing issues, adjusting balance, and optimizing future content based on your gameplay experience.
