addedThis is Íker Queral speaking, one of the founders of Noirware and the lead developer of The Backrooms Regret. Today, I’m thrilled to share some exciting news: the next update for the Prologue is almost finished. Over the past few months, I’ve been gathering feedback and reviews from our amazing users, and I’ve worked hard to improve and refine every aspect that needed attention or was less well-received. Additionally, I’ve added a decent amount of new content to enhance and perfect the overall experience.
added· New Options: [HUD]: Buttons to show/hide basic elements. [Aspect Ratio]: Switch between 16:9, 16:10, 4:3, Ultrawide, and Super Ultrawide. [Graphic Quality]: Preset selections: Low, Medium, High, and Epic. [Visual Options]: Enable/disable motion blur and blur effects. [Master Volume]: Slider bar. [Mouse/Joystick Sensitivity]: Slider bar. [Invert Axes]: Checkbox for X or Y axis. [Motion Sickness]: Checkbox to reduce camera movement. Checkbox to disable camera shakes.
added· New difficulties when starting the game: [Explorer Mode (Easy)]: Slower and less perceptive enemies. [Intruder Mode (Original)]: The standard experience. [Paranoia Mode (Hard)]: Increased enemy speed and perception.
fixed· New crouching mechanic · Collision fixes and improvements · Enhanced enemy AI · Fixed save system bugs · Dynamized initial chase sequence based on player feedback · Fully recreated and improved main menu · New object interaction system · Improved Gameplay-Cinematic transitions and vice versa · Enhanced Asset Dressing and environmental decorations · Second game area fully recreated with new zones to explore, new mechanics, interactive objects, and extra content · New in-game interface
added· Recreation of the Pause Menu, including Inventory and Objectives · Revamped and improved Extras · New English voiceover · New translations into Catalan, Spanish, and Italian · New achievements · New compatibility with PS5 controllers and Steam Deck
addedAs you can see, this update will bring a wide range of changes and new features. Because of this, we’ve decided that the Prologue will no longer be free and will be priced at: €3.99 Of course, all users who claimed the game during the 6+ months it was available for free will enjoy this update without spending a single cent.

I deeply apologize for the lack of updates, patches, or announcements during this time. As I’m the one handling almost everything, I decided to focus on development and prepare a massive update.
