Today we want to share with you a small look at the current state of The Backrooms Regret. What started as a pre-production phase has evolved into a solid development where we are pouring all our efforts. We continue working day by day, polishing every corner and every shadow so that the final experience is as oppressive as we imagined.
Technical and artistic evolution
Our goal with this reimagining is to raise the quality of the title in all its sections. We are focusing development on a semi-realistic 3D style, taking advantage of the capabilities of Unreal Engine 5 to care for every material and every light source, making the terror feel real and palpable.
About the Legacy version
We know that some of you are curious about the origins of the project. Therefore, we have decided that the Legacy version will remain available. However, we want to be clear: this version will remain as is, which means it is unfinished and contains bugs.
When starting the game, you will be able to choose your path:
Legacy Version: The original experience, with its imperfections and current state.
- The Backrooms Regret (Remake)The new standard we are building from scratch to offer you the best possible version of this nightmare.
Looking to the future
It is still too early to reveal everything these hallways hide, but we continue working on the narrative, the new mechanics, and the online mode so they are ready from launch. As always, those who already have the original game will receive all the Remake content automatically.
