changedQuestion: I'm from the future, reading really old event posts for some reason, and upset that I missed out on the playtest. What do I do? Answer: Don't lose hope. Tensor 1 currently runs a Steam playtest in order to obtain feedback on an in-development build of the game. To avoid potential confusion, here are a few important points about the playtest:

Question

What is contained in the playtest?

Answer

The playtest contains all game content planned for the initial launch of the full game. It is like a Steam "free weekend" stretched over two weeks. The only other important difference from a real Steam "free weekend" is that the playtest does not include Steam Achievements or Steam Cloud Saves, because Steam Playtests must use a separate appID from the main game.

Question

How long will the playtest last?

Answer

Signups for the playtest will close on November 12th. The playtest itself will close on November 19th with the launch of the full game.

Question

How can you offer a single player game for a "free weekend?" Do you hate money?

Answer

Testers are being rewarded with free access to the game to compensate them for spending their time on a technically unfinished product and for their time spent giving feedback to improve that product.

Question

How do I sign up before it closes?

Answer

Go to the main store page, scroll down to "Join the Tensor 1 Playtest," and select "Request Access" while the option is still there.

Question

I'm from the future, reading really old event posts for some reason, and upset that I missed out on the playtest. What do I do?

Answer

Don't lose hope. The playtest may open again one day in the future, should the game ever need to test out an experimental content update. (Disclaimer: This is not a promise of any future content updates. Do not purchase the game based on any expectations of future content updates.)
