Tenebrix v0.2.0 - Early Access Release

Tenebrix officially enters Early Access June, 1, 2026 at Midnight EST.

Version 0.2.0, Early Access Relic Foundations, promotes the current level 11-20 branch to the Early Access release build and introduces the first playable pass of the relic system.

This update focuses on long-term run identity: class-locked relic collections, boss relic rewards, camp-based relic equipping, and combat hooks that let relics meaningfully shape each run.

Early Access Release

  • Promoted the current development branch to the v0.2.0 Early Access release build.

  • Refreshed build metadata, in-game patch notes, and packaged desktop artifacts for the Early Access branch.

  • Trimmed source-only model archives and unreferenced video media from packaged desktop builds to reduce release size without removing runtime assets.

Relic System

  • Added class-locked relic collections with owned relics and exactly one equipped relic per run.

  • Moved the first class relics into Vorguul's Warlord's Cache: Oathbound Buckler, Black Candle Stub, Ashen Censer, or Smokehook Locket.

  • Moved the second class relics into Grathmog and Varn's Tyrrants' Hoard: Citadel Pennant, Gravehook Ring, Mercy Scale, and Alley Coin.

Combat Effects

  • Wired relic combat runtime tracking for once-per-turn and once-per-combat effects.

  • Added relic hooks for opening combat bonuses, full-block energy refunds, Exhume discounts, healing-to-Ward and excess-healing Block conversion, movement bonuses, direct-hit Momentum, and first-enchantment discounts.

  • Made relic runtime state persist safely with in-progress combats.

Rewards and Inventory

  • Added fixed relic rewards to boss treasure chests while preventing duplicate relic rewards.

  • Added relic viewing to the travel pack, a HUD relic pill, and camp-only relic equipping from the inventory overlay.

  • Converted the old prototype relic save shape into the new class starter relic model during save hydration.

  • Reworked the travel pack overlay into aligned three-column rows so gold, keys, relics, and six consumable slots form a clean 3x3 inventory grid.

Camp Economy

  • Adjusted Forge and Enchanter prices so stronger source cards, stronger crafted results, and high-impact cost reductions now cost more Gold.

Saves and Interface

  • Reworked the save/load screen into a two-panel layout with save slots on the left and selected run details plus load/delete actions on the right.

  • Polished save/load frame transparency and added extra image-frame text padding so save slot labels and run stats stay inside their artwork.

Known Early Access Status

  • The relic pool is intentionally limited to the starter-plus-test set while the core loop is validated.

  • The camp experience and post-level-20 dungeon progression remain in progress.

Thank you for stepping into Tenebrix at the beginning of Early Access. This release lays down some of the systems that will carry future progression, build identity, and class expression forward.
