Temple Maker 64 changes
This new update is on the smaller side, in preparation for an upcoming bigger update. But, it does introduce a very cool feature!
Temple Entrance URLs
Enter the Temple Hall from the web!
Now introducing Temple Entrance URLs! On a Temple's page in-game, both in Explore and Build mode, you will notice a new section with web URL and a button to copy it to your clipboard.
Send this link to your friends, and upon clicking on it, their game will launch and instantly load up your Temple! Use this new feature to share your creations all around the web with ease!
/!\\ Please note that this feature is only available on Windows.
Here's how it works
After updating, launch the game normally at least once so that Windows may register the required URL protocol.
Either go to a Temple you created in the Build screen, or pick one from the Explore screen, and copy the URL using the button.
The URL will redirect to akela-morse.github.io/temple-hall, with an ID at the end. Upon accessing this page, you will be greeted by a message beckoning you to prepare yourself.
If all is well, your browser should show a popup asking you if you wish to let Temple Maker 64 open this link. Click “Open”! There might even be a checkmark to make it stop asking, you may check it too if you want.
The game should now launch and load up the Temple!
My god, it's full of stars!
For the biggest completionists among you, Temple Maker 64 will now begin to mark the Temples you have beaten with a small golden star icon!
The only downside, unfortunately, is that this feature will only activate for the Temples you beat after this update. The Temples you have already beaten thus far won't be marked.
This could be a good opportunity to revisit the Temples you liked the most!
A blast from the past
If you tried to delete a Temple you had previously published, you may have noticed it gets removed from your disk, but it doesn't get removed from the server.
This new update fixes this inconvenience by implementing the following features.
Re-download Temples you deleted, but previously published
The Temples you published will be available for editing once more, even if you delete them! In this case, they will appear slightly transparent and with a note, like this:
Steam post image Ah yes, those were the days...
Click those entries, and Temple Maker 64 will re-download your Temple from the server. You can then edit it again, and even publish new changes!
As a side-note, on Windows only, Temple Maker 64 will now move the Temples you delete to the recycle bin instead of destroying them forever. That way, if you make a mistake, you can restore the deleted .temple64 file manually!
Unpublish Temples you want to remove from the server
On the Temples you have published, you will now be given the option to un-publish them! If you select that option, they will be removed from the server and become inaccessible. There are some considerations you should be aware of:
If you unpublish a Temple and publish it once again afterwards, it will lose its download count, like ratio and, in a future update, all of its comments.
If you unpublish a Temple, then delete it from your disk, and then empty your recycle bin, it will be lost forever. Be careful!
