Telescape Demo Update 1.2

This update includes some balance changes, quality of life improvements and bug fixes. Furthermore, a lot of work is currently going into testing saga 2 of the complete game and enhancing the visuals.

Changes

General

  • Changed some text in the main menu

  • Added a hint to a hidden quest in the Achievement Lounge

Into the Maze

  • The monster now waits a bit after teleporting before she starts moving again, unless she spots the player of course...

  • Alarms in the maze now show a visual indication when they are triggered

  • Increased the volume of the alarm sound when an alarm is triggered

  • Added a ticking sound to the red rocks in the maze as an indication that one is nearby

  • Added some clear and distinct landmarks in the maze

  • Added death screens hinting at hint features accessible in the options menu

Extended Innovations

  • Removed the second half of the reception area and replaced it with a less tedious sequence

  • Removed a softlock in the reception area

  • Removed the life system. Instead, one can choose to restart from the last checkpoint or the last save point after death

  • All janitor rooms are now safe areas

  • The monster now waits a bit after teleporting before she starts moving again, unless she spots the player of course...

  • Added a sound effect for pressing a timer panel

  • Added a sound effect for when a timer panel ticks down one number

  • Rocks that can be blown up now have an orange indication

  • Added some extra hint text in the main area of the facility to guide the player better through that area

  • Code screens now require only one input. Code screens with multiple inputs will have all but one random input solved before starting the level

  • Changed the font in some areas

  • Changed a texture to provide a clearer hint

  • Adjusted the hitbox of the power generators that do not turn on and off by themselves

  • Made changes to the finance department to ensure the player does everything that should be done before moving on

  • Changed the look of the elevator

  • Elevator music no longer overlays the other music tracks

  • Added death screens hinting at keyboard controls for the keypad and hint features accessible in the options menu

  • Changed an achievement from a reception challenge to collecting a specific folder in the Lore Hunter gamemode

Bug fixes

  • Fixed an issue causing the monster not to be teleported after being shot

  • Pop-ups could show up twice in the reception area

  • The main area of the facility did not always reset to the correct configuration

  • Movement carts no longer move slowly or teleport when activated with a button

  • The monster can now walk between the ground floor corridors and the stairs

  • Finance panels no longer assume that no input equals the number 0

  • Removed a sudden and unexplained death in the reception area
