changedDevlog – Naya Joins the Adventure! The first level has been redesigned around the beginning of Naya and Tawa's adventure. Throughout the level, Tawa follows Naya while she tells him the story of how they first met, introducing their relationship and the foundation of the game's narrative.
changedDevlog – Naya Joins the Adventure! This update also introduces Naya's core gameplay mechanics, as well as the first combat encounters. You'll be able to defend yourself against smaller animals, but the dinosaurs are another story. Charging into every encounter won't end well. Some dinosaurs, like a Gallimimus , are simply too dangerous to fight, while others... such as a Parasaurolophus ... might surprise you. Sometimes the best choice is to stand your ground, and sometimes it's to run.
changedDevlog – Naya Joins the Adventure! For now, the ecosystem is still a work in progress. Carnivorous dinosaurs mainly hunt herbivores , creating a living world where wildlife interacts naturally. They will only rarely target Naya, allowing players to discover the game's mechanics without constant danger. Their AI and hunting behavior will continue to evolve in future updates.
changedLooking Ahead – Rideable Dinosaurs? One feature I'm currently exploring is the possibility of riding certain dinosaurs . Rather than making every dinosaur rideable, I'd like this to become a special mechanic used during memorable moments—crossing difficult terrain, escaping danger, or reaching places that would otherwise be inaccessible.

Devlog – Naya Joins the Adventure!

This update marks a major step forward for Tawa: Lost in Time with the introduction of Naya, who now becomes the main playable character.

The first level has been redesigned around the beginning of Naya and Tawa's adventure. Throughout the level, Tawa follows Naya while she tells him the story of how they first met, introducing their relationship and the foundation of the game's narrative.

This update also introduces Naya's core gameplay mechanics, as well as the first combat encounters. You'll be able to defend yourself against smaller animals, but the dinosaurs are another story. Charging into every encounter won't end well. Some dinosaurs, like a Gallimimus, are simply too dangerous to fight, while others... such as a Parasaurolophus... might surprise you. Sometimes the best choice is to stand your ground, and sometimes it's to run.

For now, the ecosystem is still a work in progress. Carnivorous dinosaurs mainly hunt herbivores, creating a living world where wildlife interacts naturally. They will only rarely target Naya, allowing players to discover the game's mechanics without constant danger. Their AI and hunting behavior will continue to evolve in future updates.

Although Naya is now the main playable character, Tawa remains an essential companion. Most of the time he follows Naya, but there will be moments where you'll take control of him. Thanks to his small size, Tawa can explore narrow caves, climb through tight passages, and retrieve objects from places that Naya cannot reach.

As a bonus, this build also includes an extra version of the first level featuring only Tawa, letting players experience the original opening before Naya joins the adventure.

Looking Ahead – Rideable Dinosaurs?

One feature I'm currently exploring is the possibility of riding certain dinosaurs. Rather than making every dinosaur rideable, I'd like this to become a special mechanic used during memorable moments—crossing difficult terrain, escaping danger, or reaching places that would otherwise be inaccessible.

Naya and Tawa will always remain at the heart of the adventure, but I think sharing the journey with a few dinosaur companions could make some moments even more exciting.

What do you think? Which dinosaur would you most like to ride?
