We’re kicking off a new series of highlights to pull back the curtain on the dynamic, simulated world of Tattered Banners. Our goal is to show how different factions, from the smallest bandit camp to the largest trade hub, operate with different goals, and how your presence (or absence) ripples through the land.

To start, we're looking at the lowliest of threats: Bandits. They aren't just road-blockers, they have a hunger for progress.

Simulation Highlight #1: The "Raid" Cascade

In this highlight, we track a small tier 1 Bandit Hideout with big ambitions, and the decision they make that affect the world.

  1. The bandits dispatch a party to ambush and rob merchants on a road.

  2. They intercept a poorly guarded shipment of Iron Ore meant for a local smithy.

  3. The bandits haul the iron back to their camp.

  4. With enough stolen resources, that Tier 1 camp upgrades its encampment, spawning tougher, better-armored raiders.

  5. Meanwhile, the city never receives its iron shipment. Weapon prices spike, and the town's ability to arm its militia deteriorates.

A Living Threat

Naturally, things don't stop there. If left unchecked, these bandits will become more daring, eventually marching on the weakened town to seize it entirely - intent on carving out their own "noble" house from the ruins.

But that is a highlight for another time.

We’ll be sharing more of these systemic snapshots every few weeks, gradually revealing more stories from the changing, dynamic world of Tattered Banners.

Playtest Update

Following extremely positive feedback from our early Discord playtesters, we’re excited to finally expand our testing pool!

We will begin granting access to participants from the Steam Playtest pool very soon.

  • This Weekend: A small initial wave of participants will receive access.

  • Next 2 Weeks: We will steadily introduce more players to the build.

If you haven't signed up for the playtest yet, now is the time to do so via the button on the main store page. We'll have more specific details on this later this week!
