changedAs we continue work on the Wasteland update, we have come to somewhat of a halfway point and decided we wanted to make a minor update in the meantime. There has been a lot of feedback about how damage works, especially about turrets feeling counterintuitive as a weak point, and we agree, which is why we have given them some more damage resistance across the board. This should change how the combat feels quite a lot, and we're hoping it will allow for much more strategy and skill expression. There have been a number of other changes too, which can be found below:
changedReduced swivel speed on heavier turrets at higher tiers
changedRebalanced damage and armour values across the board
changedTurret part takes less damage
changedGun part takes less damage
changedTrack parts take more damage

As we continue work on the Wasteland update, we have come to somewhat of a halfway point and decided we wanted to make a minor update in the meantime.

  • Adjust swivel speeds and turn speeds

  • Reduced swivel speed on heavier turrets at higher tiers

  • Lowered turn speed on high tier hulls and tracks

  • Rebalanced damage and armour values across the board

  • Turret part takes less damage

  • Gun part takes less damage

  • Track parts take more damage

  • Set minimum reload speed to be the same as minimum fire rate for all guns

  • Rebalanced minor CPU's to have a wider stat spread

  • Increased machinegun heat generation slightly

  • Changed distances between tier zones

  • Updated all of the objectives to be more specific

  • Added ironman mode (Unlocked by killing Plasma)

There has also been a rework to the end game system. While we still plan on redesigning the endgame in the titular "Endgame" milestone update, we weren't happy with the current placeholder endgame system, so it has now been fleshed out a bit. It is still temporary but it should feel a little more structured now. You will have the option to trigger the endgame or not after defeating the final boss, as well as an objective to finish the trial with.

Endgame changes include:

  • Increased hunter spawn distance

  • Added a new endgame extract objective

  • Capped scrap multiplier from hunters to 2x

  • Added a 0.5x scrap multiplier for successfully ascending

  • Added an end game panel when defeating plasma

That's it for the changes going in today. We won't talk too much here about what's coming with the second half of the Wasteland update, but I will say that while this half was focused on the tanks, balance and gameplay, the second half will focus on the world and terrain. As always thanks to everyone who has given their feedback, it has shaped the game to what it is today and will continue to shape it with each step we take towards 1.0
