Following the Festival and the release of the demo version, a large number of major improvements, new mechanics, and gameplay adjustments have been added to the game. Many of these changes were implemented based on player feedback and impressions — huge thanks to everyone for the support and suggestions. Now, let’s go through everything step by step.

  1. Complete Rework of the Tutorial Scenario

The tutorial scenario has received not only a full visual overhaul, but also a major reduction in tutorial text — approximately 70% less than before.

The tutorial scenario was the very first scenario I created for the game, and looking back now, I can clearly see many of its weaknesses. If I was able to reduce the amount of tutorial text by around 70% while still preserving the core learning experience, that probably means the original version contained far too much unnecessary text. After all, nobody enjoys reading walls of text if it can be avoided.

For comparison: Before / After (visual difference between versions)

I can only apologize to everyone who had to fight their way through the massive amount of text in the old version.

Additional improvements were also made to the stability of the tutorial experience (including fixes for stuck interface buttons and other issues).

Work on the tutorial scenario is still ongoing. In future updates, new mechanics will be added to better guide players and make objectives clearer during gameplay. The tutorial will also be connected to the card and HQ experience system to encourage players to complete it.

  1. Historical Campaign Rework

Numerous improvements have been made to the Historical Campaign mode:

  • special battle effects have been introduced for Historical Campaign battles (starting from the second scenario);

  • a second USSR scenario has been added — “Battle of Kyiv, 1941”;

  • Historical Campaigns are now connected to the experience progression system;

  • the visual presentation of historical scenarios has been completely redesigned;

  • the entire structure of Historical Campaigns has been rebuilt to simplify the addition of future campaigns and scenarios, including those for other nations.

For comparison: Before / After

From now on, each campaign scenario will become progressively more challenging through additional combat modifiers (enemy buffs), adding more variety and tactical depth to battles.

This mode will continue receiving updates and improvements to make it more engaging and challenging over time.

  1. Experience System Rework

The entire experience gain system has been fully redesigned. This eliminated existing issues and centralized the progression mechanics, making future balancing and adjustments much easier.

  1. Future Development Plans

Planned for the near future:

  • integration of the USA faction into the card and HQ research system (without multiplayer support for now);

  • completion of the first USSR campaign;

  • addition of Historical Campaigns for the USA and Germany.

After that, work will most likely begin on integrating account saves with Steam Cloud.
