addedFor anybody that wants to join, we’re doing a new session tonight! The devs will be joined by Horror games connoisseur and YouTuber Nerd Space Games https://www.youtube.com/@NerdSpaceGames We will start playing at 10 pm CET today and hope to see a bunch of you there.
changedGoddammit! What better way to kick off Scream Fest than with a scream! Our first major blunder was that the demo wasn’t actually available when the fest started. We thought it would pass review before the festivities bagan, but it didn’t. We did managed to patch things slightly by putting up a playtest link instead. But dread not - the demo is out now! Our second big blunder was that the cauldron somehow reverted to an older, more hardcore build. Big shoutout to those that actually managed to break it despite it’s sturdiness. But Cauldron is way easier to break now, so Runts should have a chance again!
changedThe scroll speed of the region selector has been increased significantly.
changedA rudimentary sound settings menu has been implemented with separate music and sound effect sliders.
changedDefault music volume has been reduced.
addedRemoved unused scoreboard entries from the endgame scoreboard and added titles to the columns instead of stone icons.

A few influencers have covered the game so far: Pixel Bush made a really good, well-produced video and brought over some players. Thank you! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wyqJXPI-B88&t=4s&ab_channel=PixelBush StephenPlays had a few games where the Runts got completely wrecked. There’s a really nice cauldron save in the third game! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xu15QJzFhKw&ab_channel=StephenPlays Old school Warcraft 3 player Wtii took a meticulous look at TagTime with some solid feedback. https://www.twitch.tv/videos/2287609902

Finally, hardcore DBD player JaeeCyn played for a few hours this night. https://www.twitch.tv/videos/2288882478

Besides this, Carl and Mikkel has been hard at work fixing the following:

Quality of life:

  • The cursor is now restricted to the game view. No more accidentally clicking outside of the game if you have multiple monitors!

  • The scroll speed of the region selector has been increased significantly.

  • A rudimentary sound settings menu has been implemented with separate music and sound effect sliders.

  • Default music volume has been reduced.

  • Removed unused scoreboard entries from the endgame scoreboard and added titles to the columns instead of stone icons.

Bugfixes:

  • The cauldron should now correctly become easier to break the more runts that are in it.

  • The Witch should no longer be able to instantly kill Runts while using her ability.

  • Using the Pig’s cannon tower should no longer cause you to slide along the ground.

  • The Fairy’s teleport ability should no longer be able to teleport you outside of the map.

  • Poison indicators should no longer persist between games.

  • The bots should now be much less likely to stand around and just look at the eggs.

  • A bug that caused bots to completely stop working has been fixed.

  • Fixed a bug that could cause status effects to never end.

Hope to see many of you later for some games, and big thumbs up to Stacy for providing new Wolf concept art!
