Hey there! 🐾
Starting today, I’ll be sharing monthly updates on the progress of my game “Ta-Miu”! To kick things off, here’s a brief update on the current stage of production.
💜 A few words about the project itself
“Ta-Miu” is an action-adventure game with RPG elements, in which you play as an extraordinary cat named Ta-Miu, exploring the magical and mysterious world of ancient Egypt. Chosen by the goddess Bastet for a challenging mission — to save the Pharaoh and, in doing so, all of Egypt from the evil powers of the god Seth — Ta-Miu embarks on an epic journey. Along the way, she meets an unusual companion: Sahi the mummy, who will aid her throughout her adventures.
The game features classic mechanics such as an inventory system, quest system, and skill system. The first two are already fully implemented and working smoothly, while I’m still developing the skill system — and it’s coming along nicely.
You’ll also be able to trade with a mysterious merchant cat 😉, who happens to be an avid player of Senet — a genuine board game from ancient Egypt.
The game already features the first puzzles and riddles — though I don’t want to reveal too much so as not to spoil the joy of discovery! Ultimately, I plan to include many more, with a wide variety in both form and difficulty.
Right now, I’m focusing heavily on the visual side of the game. Very soon, I’ll begin working with a 2D artist to create a clear, atmospheric interface inspired by ancient Egyptian aesthetics. At the same time, I’m gradually replacing placeholders with final assets and starting collaboration with a 3D artist to bring the game’s characters and creatures to life.
✨ My main goal at the moment?
To create a stable demo version that will let you experience the atmosphere of Ta-Miu, earn your trust, and — I hope — spark your curiosity for more.
