Hallo. For this blog I'm mostly gonna talk about the demo and what comes next. I'm also gonna drop a bunch of stats because numbers are fun. First of all, thank you to all those who tried out the demo!

What changed

1 fix1 addition3 changes0 removals
  • Performance
  • Server
  • Gameplay
changedKidding aside, here are some other stats: There have been 11 crashes affecting 8 players and 13 exceptions affecting 6 players. Almost half of those crashes were due to the player's disk running out of space. That's interesting because the file size of the game is only about 2.7GB. The game does create a cache of about 3.6GB so that it can load up faster next time you boot it up. Sadly there is no way to tell steam the disk space reserved should be higher than the install size. The next best thing was to put a warning in the loading screen that if your disk space is lower than 7GB, it will tell you the game might malfunction.
fixedThe other crashes and exceptions have been promptly fixed, though there are still 2 issues that I'm looking into still. Overall, I'm pretty happy with the game's stability, given its complex multithreaded implementation. Apparently, the game even runs on Linux and Steam deck! However some people have reported trying to get it to run on mac without success.
changedPlaytesting for the full game is going to begin soon™. If you'd like to try out the full game and provide feedback, head on to the discord server and read the latest announcement on how to participate.
changedMany small tutorial improvements
addedFont sizes are bigger for 1080p or less monitors and added font size slider for further customization

Hallo. For this blog I'm mostly gonna talk about the demo and what comes next. I'm also gonna drop a bunch of stats because numbers are fun.

First of all, thank you to all those who tried out the demo! About 2600 people put it in your Steam libraries and about 1300 actually played it. To those of you who haven't downloaded it yet, what y'all waiting for?!

Kidding aside, here are some other stats: There have been 11 crashes affecting 8 players and 13 exceptions affecting 6 players. Almost half of those crashes were due to the player's disk running out of space. That's interesting because the file size of the game is only about 2.7GB. The average playtime is around 33-41 minutes depending on which source you look at, and over 33 of you played over 5h!

Okay enough about stats.

If you're reading this and you're not part of the Discord, then you might have missed out on 2 important things:

  1. Playtesting for the full game is going to begin soon™. If you'd like to try out the full game and provide feedback, head on to the discord server and read the latest announcement on how to participate.

  2. A bunch of patch notes! Here are the most important changes since the demo went live on April 16:

  • Free play mode is now unlocked for everyone by default

  • Many small tutorial improvements

  • Pressing F key allows you to pick up items from movers

  • Font sizes are bigger for 1080p or less monitors and added font size slider for further customization

  • Drop 4 feastling bombs on death. This will be scalable and togglable in the full game. Thanks to Vinaville and The Meanie for this great suggestion!

That's all for today folks, happy gaming!
