Swan Song changes
We wanted to start posting here more often to keep everyone up-to-date about the process of the game. Making this vertical slice has been a pretty big undertaking, since a lot of the game has been build from the ground up. The reason for this was mainly the addition of the level editor (for in house use and later on for the players when the game releases).
Story
The story of the initial demo was something we threw together very quickly for the Gamejam back in 2024. The actual story that will be present in the vertical slice and the final release is already taking shape! The story and game will take place in 3 main acts, which each in turn will have 3 chapters. The first 2 chapters of act 1 will be present in the vertical slice and thus be playable at Gamescom (and afterwards on steam).
Puzzle mechanics
We are also adding in new platforms, obstacles, and changing the look of others! Here is a short look at some new rotating clock obstacles. The way platform icons are displayed has also changed because of the addition of these obstacles. In the next part of this update you will find a better comparison between the old and new UI.
New models & shader
We have also been updating the shader and models for Swan Song. Below you'll see a comparison between the old look and the new look. The new look is a lot more polished, and the goose pawn is now actually a swan! Note that not all elements have been added back in yet, like the gears for example. These detail parts are still being worked on.
