Hi Survivors!

We’re currently working on another major feature for our game — automation! Many of you have asked for this, especially as progression introduces more complex recipes and blueprints. We hope this feature will improve late-game gameplay and take some of the manual workload off your shoulders.

Automation is not yet available in the game. It’s a feature still in active development, and we’re very open to your feedback and ideas on how it should work. Let’s get started!

Premises

The automation system is designed to automatically pull resources collected by Survivors from crates and barrels and transfer them directly into the appropriate processing units. This means players no longer need to manually move resources — the Machine does it for you!

How does it work?

Everything begins in the Alpine Biome, where you need to find the appropriate blueprint to upgrade your Machine. Installing it will grant you access to a new feature called “Automated Production.”

Once the upgrade is installed, the Survivor approaches the selected processing station, opens its interface, and clicks the icon located at the top center of the screen. At this point, you can choose between two modes:

  • Manual Mode (M): The original system remains intact – players choose a recipe by manually inserting required resources

  • Automatic Mode (A): Players select a recipe, and the station will automatically draw the required resources from Machine Storage, removing the need for manual insertion

Change mode into automatic, choose what recipe you want to process and... viola! You should be able to see a marker above the station indicating which material or item is currently being produced.

From that moment on automation will keep running until the resources are depleted or the Machine runs out of fuel. So keep an eye on it!

Similar to Automatic Turrets, here you’ll also need to build a power network. For automation to work, you must construct a g,l,enerator and then connect the radio receiver to the appropriate processing station using these special walls and floors.

Production chain

We want our system to allow you to process resources in a way that makes even the most advanced recipes as automated as possible.

Processing stations take resources from the barrels and crates that you have placed on the Machine. Once processed, the resources are returned to the Machine’s storage and are ready to be used by another, more advanced station that requires them to craft more complex recipes.

In this way, you can create your own production chain that produces the necessary materials and items without the need for your direct involvement. Pretty neat, right?

Wrap up!

I’m curious to hear what you think of this concept and would really appreciate your feedback and ideas! We might not be able to implement everything, but we’ll seriously consider every suggestion.

Catch us on our Discord, and we’re also looking forward to your feedback here in the comments under this post!

Ah! I almost forgot! We’re still waiting for your feedback in our survey - just clink on the link! Those who complete it and leave their email address (optional!) will receive a Supporter Pack as a reward (limited to first 100 Survivors!)

Dzięki!
