Summa Expeditionis changes
Salve centurion,
New update just dropped. We keep doing our best to polish and apply your feedback. Thanks for the support and for taking the time to help us making Summa Expeditionis better!
This update is all about getting your men to follow orders better, move without getting stuck, and react properly in battle.
Alarm & combat
When you order an attack outside the camp, soldiers now chase down and finish off the enemy. Before, they would hesitate — closing in without actually fighting.
When a battle ends, they return to formation running, not walking.
During combat they no longer march off to an old spot: they stay with you even as you move.
When you sound the alarm, the men join the formation instantly — they drop whatever they were carrying on the spot instead of calmly hauling it back to storage first.
Movement
Fixed NPCs that would get stuck or "moonwalk" in place without moving. They now break out of it on their own.
Orders & marching column
All orders (formation, attack, hold position, crouch, equip and gather supplies) now propagate to the whole column, not just the first contubernium.
When you give the make camp order, the entire column sets up the same temporary camp (previously only the first one camped).
When you break camp, everyone goes back to following their leader.
Every contubernium now equips and gathers supplies, not just the first one.
A camp that's already been broken down no longer shows up as an active zone on the map, and won't be reused by mistake when you make camp again.
Added new option to return soldiers to the legion.
Alarm performance
During alarm, the camp stops crunching civilian work tasks — the men focus on forming up, equipping and fighting, with better responsiveness and performance.
Recruitment
When recruiting allies, neutrals or slaves with a full contubernium, the game now asks whether you want to send them to the camp instead of failing or assigning them without warning.
Equipment
Fixed soldiers showing up naked: they now get dressed even while on their way to another task, and the game better detects when someone is missing clothing.
Outside of alarm, tasks that require equipping no longer get wrongly blocked.
Production
Fixed several bugs in the production interface.
Repaired some molds that weren't producing results.
Thanks again for all your reports!
Keep letting us know about anything odd you spot around the camp.
Roma Victrix.
