Summa Expeditionis changes
First post-launch update is live. 1.0.1 is focused on polishing the gameplay experience, fixing control issues, and making the daily management of your camp much smoother.
Here is everything included in version 1.0.1:
Smoother and More Natural Combat
We have thoroughly overhauled the combat system to make fights feel more reliable, readable, and responsive.
Better movement: Your character now naturally turns their body into attacks when striking to the side or behind while standing still.
- No more camera snapsSudden camera and body snaps during close combat have been significantly reduced.
Consistent aiming: The torso now reliably follows your combat intent instead of randomly resetting.
Attacking while running: Attack intent now takes priority during movement, meaning your combat posture behaves much better while running.
- General stabilityWe cleaned up AI behavior in group fights and fixed edge cases that could temporarily break interactions after specific attack sequences.
Better Control Over Your Troops (and Pets)
The command system has been improved so that issuing orders during high-stress moments is faster and less confusing.
Simplified Centuria commands: In alert mode, the command wheel now clearly functions for Centuria commands. Additionally, you can issue key group orders directly from the menu once again.
Predictable formations: Formation advance now moves based on the formation itself, making movement much more logical. Menu and HUD icons now properly match the active formation.
Fixed equipment behavior: Entering alert or formation mode no longer forces everyone to equip gear. This now works correctly as a toggle command.
- New "Cancel Command" buttonWe added a dedicated button that displays your active orders and lets you cancel all of them (including troop and pet orders) with a single press.
Menu always accessible: The Contubernium/Centuria button no longer locks when no men are assigned, allowing you to manage commands at any time.
Resource Management, UI, and the End of the Chicken Apocalypse
Finally, we have implemented several highly requested changes for camp management and the user interface:
- Filters and search barsStorage units now have filters, the inventory interface displays more information, and we added both filters and a search bar to production menus.
- Farm animal population controlWe fixed the exponential growth bugs for certain livestock, especially chickens. To help you manage this, marking animals for slaughter is now much easier. Your PCs can finally breathe a sigh of relief.
- Resource rebalancingGravel, clay, and iron reserves have been adjusted to prevent material accumulation from turning your camp into absolute chaos.
Thank you very much for your feedback and for helping us keep improving Summa Expeditionis.
See you on the battlefield!
Roma Victrix.
