Dev Log – What's Cooking

Hi everyone,

Not sure if you've had a chance to take down Lord Necromancer Volak and his undead Grimlegion from our last major update, but while you've been breaking bones, we've been busy in Copenhagen cooking up the next exciting update for Successor! And we're ready to reveal a few details.

New Hero: The Druid

A mysterious wildling, the Druid lives deep in the forests, far from civilization. Shy and elusive, she rarely shows herself—but when cornered, she becomes a force of nature. In battle, she summons beasts of the mangrove and entangles foes in thorny roots.

Alongside her arrival come new quests and challenges:

• Life Among the Dead

• The Warden's Gift

New loot tied to the Druid includes:

• Mace of Entanglement – grants one of her signature abilities

• Bed of Flowers – a mystical trinket

• Vest of Thorns – protective for you and punishing for others

These items offer powerful new options to mix into your next conquest.

UI Improvements: Campaign, Adventure & Challenges

We're working on a layout overhaul for both the Campaign and Adventure Mode selection pages inside the Player Handbook. We've noticed that Adventure Mode isn't as visible as it should be, even though it's a core pillar of the Successor experience. Therefore, we aim to make this more accessible and integrated into your journey.

We're also improving the Challenge page to make it easier to track your progress and see what's left to conquer.

New Feature: Faction Ruler Crowns

We're adding Trophies that reward you for conquering enemy rulers, starting with Faction Crowns earned by defeating faction rulers in the Adventure Mode conquests.

Introducing: Region Events

Region Events bring opportunities and danger to the region map. With each step your Lord takes, the chance to trigger an event increases. These events can directly affect your party, influence upcoming battles, or present unexpected obstacles in your path.

The goal is to make the region maps feel more dynamic, alive, and unpredictable.

We plan to expand this system with Biome- and Faction-specific events, making each region feel even more distinct and responsive to your surroundings.
