changedAlthough the game hasn't had the impact I imagined, I'm not discouraged. I will continue creating games in my free time —in fact, right now I'm working on two new projects, one solo and one with a team—, although it's true that dedicating time to something that isn't financially productive always costs a bit more effort.
changedBefore getting into the changes, I want to thank everyone who gave the game a chance from the bottom of my heart, especially for your lovely comments. Seriously, thank you very much.

On December 16th, Submarine Survivor will celebrate its first year on Steam, and I wanted to take this special occasion to share a brief personal reflection with you.

This project accompanied me through two years of development, worked on entirely solo and with a lot of love. I decided to release it in a near-complete state, without resorting to Early Access; I'm not particularly a fan of that format, neither as a developer nor as a player. Furthermore, making video games is not my main profession for now: developing it was a personal dream, something I wanted to do because I'm passionate about it. Even so, I won't deny that I would love to be able to make a living from this someday, although I know it is a difficult path and an increasingly saturated sector.

Although the game hasn't had the impact I imagined, I'm not discouraged. I will continue creating games in my free time —in fact, right now I'm working on two new projects, one solo and one with a team—, although it's true that dedicating time to something that isn't financially productive always costs a bit more effort.

Even so, during these last few months, I managed to find time between my job and the other projects to complete what was always my final vision for Submarine Survivor.

Before getting into the changes, I want to thank everyone who gave the game a chance from the bottom of my heart, especially for your lovely comments. Seriously, thank you very much.

I'm also excited to tell you that Submarine Survivor is available (since a few months ago) on consoles thanks to Eastasia Soft, who handled the port. Please keep in mind that the PC and console versions are not exactly the same, and that console updates depend on the publisher and their schedule.

What does this update bring?

This will be, in principle, the last content update for the game (although of course, I will fix any bugs that may appear). And it comes loaded with new features:

More Weapons

  • I have finished adding all the weapons I had planned: we went from 36 to 60!

More Chips

  • The chips are also complete: from 49 we have reached 60.

Balance and Adjustments

  • I have reviewed and adjusted the values of weapons and chips to make them more interesting and satisfying.

New Cooldown Visualization

  • Now you can clearly see the cooldown times of your attacks right below the submarine's health bar.

New System: The Zeppelin!

  • A new progression that grants two additional upgrades during runs: one offensive and one defensive. Everything is explained in-game and is accessible from the start.

More Languages

Joining the existing translations (English, Spanish, German, French, and Italian) are now:

  • Latin American Spanish

  • Brazilian Portuguese

  • Russian

  • Japanese

  • Simplified Chinese

  • Korean

Small Extra Tweaks

  • Including balancing of submarines, enemies, and some rewards.

Thank you for joining me on this underwater journey.

See you in the depths, captains!
