Welcome to the second instalment of Tech Tree Tease! In this series, I give you a sneak peek at a small fraction of StoneSpace's vast, complicated crafting tree.
The humble wood nettle is the start of a long crafting chain, leading into cordage, textiles, and even some basic chemistry.
Its firm, flexible fibres make the stem perfect for use as primitive, natural cordage, utilised in a wide range of early crafting and construction recipes.
Once retted and prepared, its fibres can be extracted, refined, and spun, for use in textiles and rope making.
Even its leaves serve as simple bedding or can be used to construct small pouches for transporting loose items like gravel and seeds.
Besides its crafting applications, it also has culinary uses.
