A major update for the Stomp demo has just released, with a wide variety of changes big and small!

New Things and Major Changes:

  • The player now starts the game in Stomp’s house, where you can talk with Stomp’s Uncle George

  • Portstones now require finding Port Keys to access. There are two Port Keys hidden in the demo.

  • Added cooldown for using tools

  • Balance experiment: Lunchbox has up to 3 uses now instead of 5

  • New visual effects for various player movements

  • Updated the engine to a newer version, which should provide slight improvements to physics performance and rendering, including a reduction in stuttering caused by loading shaders

  • Major changes to the save system - the default directory the game was saving to could occasionally cause problems on certain systems. However, this is a pretty substantial update to the demo so I recommend players start a new file anyways!

  • Added these really awesome little crabs :D

Tweaks:

  • Increased size of piks

  • Various tiny pik-related tweaks and improvements

  • Added boundaries to the map movement

  • Various UI tweaks and improvements

  • Reduced colour banding on screen vignette

  • Improved map controls

  • Various changes and improvements to environment art

Fixes:

  • Prevented more cases in which it’s possible to perform pixel perfect wall jumps on angled surfaces (this fix should prevent ALL cases)
