addedFirst 2026 Dev Update! February 2026 Steam post image Lots have happened in 2026, including our first ever playtest, a new tutorial area, cutscenes, new game flow, and much more! - STOMPING
fixedGrandma can now stomp on Luna when shes on the ground, making it a dangerous space to hang around. Steam post image -INTRO AREA Started blocking out the intro sequence using greyboxes, this will be where the player gets their first touch into the game. Steam post image -THE PIPES Created the starting area of the game, which is the pipes. This area was designed as a safe area to allow players to get used to perspective bending climbing. Steam post image -CUTSCENES Started creating cutscene sequences using Unity's Timeline to provide cinematic portions for framing and storytelling! What youre seeing is the first intro zoom in for the game Steam post image -GOBI!!! Added a new friend called Gobi who is meant to be a companion and a major character in the game. Hes a Tokay gecko (Voted by the community!) and is a key part of the game's story. Steam post image -CINEMATIC BARS AND DIALOGUE SYSTEM We now also have cinematic bars and a dialogue system to help tell the story of Sticky Feet through our characters. The characters can now speak! (Their mouths move too!) Steam post image -NPCSEQUENCING AND JUMPING I've also added an NPCSequencing system to trigger Gobi to walk and jump! This is scalable to future NPCs as well. That being said, this will mean that in Sticky Feet, Critter NPCs will not be able to function as AI that follow you in gameplay, because I'm not intending to set them to work with navmesh. Steam post image - INTERACTABLES You can now also interact with objects now to learn more about the world! This system can cycle through different lines and can potentially change based on world state! Super excited about what I can do with worldbuilding here. -CAMERA INDEPENDENT MOVEMENT The player now controls Luna INDEPENDENT of the camera aim. This makes the control way more natural and you can now have luna walk TOWARDS the camera so you can see her lil face ːsteamhappyːThis helps with players getting disoriented during gameplay. -MOVEMENT POLISH AND BUG FIXING Fixed IK bugs causing skeleton to break Added Drips to help with orientation direction BROG! A new character introduced! No spoilers, but we have toads in the game :) they too, play an important part of the lore. Theyre steadfast, unbudging, and have a strict moral code. However, they have little respect for smaller breeds (like geckos) NPC TALKING You can now talk to NPCs in the world, and they sometimes have interesting conversations to share with you. TUTORIAL SYSTEM Created a tutorial system to show prompts that can teach players certain Sticky Feet related mechanics they might want to know! (That being said WASD to climb may not be needed here and im planning to teach other more meaningful controls instead haha) CINEMATIC SEQUENCES | TIMELINE ANIMATION I'm also currently working on various cutscene sequences to help build tension and introduce interesting story beats. I've been animating things like gates closing, VFX enabling and disabling, basically, spawning objects via timeline! And thats it for this update! Alot of what we've done was for sequencing the main game flow, focusing on tutorial, clarity, controls, and basically creating a memorable first time experience and entry into the world of Sticky Feet. Til next time!
