addedDev Updates! November 2025 Steam post image Hey everyone! I've decided to take a look back at the steam page and boy has it been a LONG time. I've not broken the streak of daily updates on Instagram and Tiktok yet (I recommend you follow it for latest updates) Instagram TikTok But I wanted to share some of the major changes that have occured over the past.. oh my gosh.. 71 days! New Changes! -Dynamic Pickup Spawner A new dynamic objective spawning system that randomizes pickups that you can discover and find to bring home. Steam post image - Scarf Added a simulated scarf that serves as a compass that points to the ground and helps with reorienting and navigation! Steam post image -More Pickups More variety of pickups to bring home! Like nails, wool, matchsticks, all for a variety of crafting recipes!Steam post image -Surveillance Camera Mode A surveillance camera mode that allows the player to view things upright, letting them reorient themselves and survey the situation! This will feed into the movement loop I designed for the player, namely, Crawl > Reorient > Assess > CrawlSteam post image - Overhauled Lighting (Day & Night Scene) The biggest change came with the overhauled lighting. I added proper mood, lighting and post processing, with a night and day scene. These will be the basis for different levels in the future! Steam post imageSteam post image -Blob Shadow I've added a blob shadow to the lizard which assists with the platforming in the game! Steam post image -Wall Clipping Shader Added a wall clipping shader that draws a cutout with dithered halftone edges for a more aesthetic look to obstacles blocking the camera, ensuring a more seamless gameplay experience than pulling the camera forward. -Sensor Mode Created a sensor mechanic in the surveillance mode, making it such that players can, and will actually need to head out to LOOK for pickupables to bring home, using the sensor mechanic, further incentivizing the micro game loop! -Grandma Shotgun Gave grandma a ranged weapon. She uses it to be able to shoot down the player if theyre in impossible to reach spots. She pulls it out when shes alerted to the player's presence, or if the player is going somewhere theyre not supposed to be at. There are many more minor changes such as -Camera Improvements -Bug fixes -Movement polish But I'm glad to be making progress steadily! Whats Next (Road to First Playable)! -Grandma Shooting -Grandma AI Improvements -Lizard Tail Drop -Crafting -Dynamic Props Environment -Level Design Overhaul -Proper FULL GameFlow! -Better Facial Animations (Granny and Lizard) See you guys in the next update!
