Steel Swarm: SURVIVOR changes
⚡ Update Overview
This update brings new mission types, sharper weapon behavior, and a round of visual, audio, and UI improvements that make every run feel faster and more reactive. It’s a compact but meaningful upgrade that tightens combat flow and adds fresh objectives to explore.
🎯 Gameplay & Balance
Adjusted Overdrive timing in The Port and increased Las Cannon collider size.
Taser Gun now deals damage over time.
Added Bank Truck event with large Xalium rewards.
Rebalanced Weapon Upgrades: stronger Burn/Shred/Virus effects, longer debuffs for low‑rate‑of‑fire weapons, shorter for high‑rate‑of‑fire weapons.
Added three Distress Calls: collect gas cannisters, retrieve stolen records, destroy map objects.
Removed Buckshot, Rocket Launcher, and Taser Gun from Front slot; increased Front weapon angle, damage, and pushback.
Reduced Rocket Launcher (Back) targeting angle.
🛠️ Systems, Missions & Audio/Visuals
Added meta mission counter, completion cards, and full Distress Call mission system.
Added new VFX and SFX for all debuff types, plus unlock SFX for Upgrade Boxes.
Fixed upgrade slot issues, incorrect weapon highlights, drone SFX bugs, and meta missions giving rewards twice.
Adjusted collectible audio mix; moved rain from Lighthouse to Campers Hill.
🔧 UI, Controls & Level Flow
Added Reset Save button.
Added Autocannon and Jammer in multiple mount types.
Improved VFX respawning and terrain‑aware hit effects.
Level Selection now opens after level‑end reload; Black Market accessible from Level Selection.
Abort now returns to Level Selection; Main Menu renamed to Continue.
Fixed VFX visibility issues with duplicate drones.
🤖 AI & Targeting
Improved drone targeting when using locked enemy positions.
Better selection logic for nearest high‑HP enemies.
