Dev Update #2 - Fan Art In Squishy Sports

We've put our first fan-designed character into the game - and made a young kid and his family's day by doing so! 😁

At events, we usually run a "create your own character" station - allowing players to design a Squishy Sports character themselves! This has always been a blast and we've always had some great entries.

At the last Yorkshire Games Fest (Before the world turned upside down), we told players we would choose a special character and put them in the game - and we finally did just that. Well... we did! We've followed this design and this has spurred on a wave of design passes that we've done on each environment to add more interactivity as the pirate does in the scene below (We spoke about this on the last post, so check it out if you haven't!).

Creating a family-friendly game, centered around friends and families being able to play together at any skill level has been so so rewarding. And being able to put player designs into our game is even better 😊

Introducing Captain Bam Bam! Our first stage hazard for Sunrise Sands. We'll talk some more about what Captain Bam Bam does and what unique gameplay they bring to our beach environment...

What do you think? Shall we do more of this? This isn't something we want to do absolutely loads of - as it's a lot of work, but we feel that this is something extra special we could do. We'd love to find ways of getting some more fan art into the game somehow!
