Our cozy little desktop adventure has officially crawled out of the taskbar and onto the festival page. SPRKLS.exe is taking part in Taskbar Treasure Week on Steam – a celebration of cozy, idle & incremental vibes living right on your taskbar. For a whole week, the event page is full of comforting projects: background companions, clickers, gentle management games, and slow-burn story experiences.
SPRKLS.exe joins them as a desktop game that turns your screen into a cozy, slightly melancholic OS, where windows, pop-ups and folders slowly open into a branching story about ghosts, friendship and nostalgia. If you’d like to sink into the atmosphere, you can sign up for the playtest on our Steam page.
⋆˙⟡A little bit about the game ♡(˃͈ ˂͈ )
For those who are here for the first time, all the action in SPRKLS.exe takes place right on your desktop, where you can meet cute ghosts, cool skeletons and other seemingly creepy creatures, each with their own story to tell.
To keep you (and them) from getting bored, we’ve added minigames you can play together, slowly unlocking the full potential of your desktop. In these games you’ll be breaking windows, resizing them, juggling interface elements and chasing new high scores in your way, if you feel like it.
