Hello all my loyal splurgeheads! After a (slight) wait, the Many More Maps Update (v0.2) is here! The primary focus of the update is the three new maps that have been added into the game, which are detailed here:

addedHello all my loyal splurgeheads! After a (slight) wait, the Many More Maps Update (v0.2) is here! The primary focus of the update is the three new maps that have been added into the game, which are detailed here:
changedReplaces the center 4x4 area of the map with a giant tile. The tile is easy to take control over and splurges into 16 adjacent tiles, but takes 16 turns to fill up.
changedThe map is now a claustrophobic network of ranadomly generated long corridors. Getting high splurge combos is easy on this map, but extra care is required! MIRROR
changedThis map tesselates infinitely, and it goes on seemingly forever. There's nowhere to hide on this map!
addedAdded 3 new maps
addedAdded 3 songs to the soundtrack

MEGA SPLURGE

Replaces the center 4x4 area of the map with a giant tile. The tile is easy to take control over and splurges into 16 adjacent tiles, but takes 16 turns to fill up.

MAZE

The map is now a claustrophobic network of ranadomly generated long corridors. Getting high splurge combos is easy on this map, but extra care is required! MIRROR

Full Changelog:

General content changes:

  • Added 3 new maps

  • Added 3 songs to the soundtrack

  • Removed the Islands map

  • Added jingles to the start and end of the game

  • Changed the decay alarm sound

Gameplay changes:

  • You can no longer win by getting a high enough combo

  • Decreased the default decay speed

  • Players can no longer place on a tile with max progress of one

  • Added a prompt for when players try to place on a tile they can't place on

  • Added an ability to save/load map presets

  • Quit to menu button now requires you to double click it

Visual changes:

  • Improved win screen transition

  • Added random tiles to the background of the game

  • Background now goes red when tile decay begins

  • Tiles now bounce periodically

  • Added particles to the background of the game

  • Changed the tile select/hover icon to an arrow

Bug fixes and misc changes:

  • Fixed some visual bugs related to rendering of tiles

  • Made slight optimisations to rendering

  • Fake/decor tiles can no longer overlap each other

  • Fixed tiles not fully disappearing at the end of the game

  • Fixed glitch which caused buttons to sometimes not revert colour

  • Lowered the volume of some repetitive sounds

  • Fixed an oversight where you could enter a negative decay speed

  • Fixed glitch where you could open and type in chat while the game was paused

  • Added chat to the stats screen
