addedLast week, we started the recruitment process for our beta test, and the response from players around the world blew me away. I honestly thought I’d struggle to find playtesters after being quiet for so long. Thank you all for sticking with Spirit X Strike! During the beta, I will try to drop a few more tester slots on our https://discord.gg/gjhmdzdfM6 from time to time. So welcome to hang out in our lair. Sharp-eyed players may have already spotted Spirit X Strike on the PC Gaming Show event page, so let’s not keep it a secret any longer: the game will be featured in the PC Gaming Show on June 8 , where we’ll be sharing some exciting new updates.
addedWith the beta test underway, it’s now time to push a new demo out. I’ve made a bunch of tweaks and fixes to it. You can find them in the detailed patch notes below. The demo covers most of the Prologue of the Early Access version (the only thing missing is the highest difficulty) and adds a brand-new boss fight against Bloody Sword. She’s the dual-blade and kicking specialist you may have caught glimpses of in the trailer and other posts, and can be quite a challenge to defeat. Trust me, even I can’t “no damage” her yet!
addedThis demo will also introduce a scoring system: you’ll get graded on completion time, damage taken, combo count, etc., at the end of each level. Looking forward to your feedback on this new demo, and feel free to share your outstanding gameplay moments on social platforms!
addedDemo Patch NotesKnown Issue: When playing with the tutorial mode enabled, there's a chance the Spirit Mimicry tutorial may not trigger properly during the battle against the Boss in the prologue. If this happens, pressing Esc and continuing the game should resolve the issue. Similar bugs may occur in other tutorial segments as well — we’re aware of the problem and working to fix it as soon as possible!
addedDemo Patch Notes[New Additions] ●Boss Bloody Sword from Chapter 1: unlocked after completing the prologue via a conversation with Hawk. (Note: save file not available for this boss fight.) ●Scoring System: grades based on completion time, combos, and more. ●Practice Mode: meditate on the bench after the prologue to enter the dojo to practice your combos. ●Perfect Dash: evade melee attacks with perfect timing to trigger a Perfect Dash, then continue your combo. ●Breakable Crates: smash crates in the environment to collect the in-game currency. ●Item System: find health items in chests or buy them from Irina between fights. ●Target Lock & Switch: lock onto enemies and switch targets in fights. ●Four Save Slots: keep playthroughs on different difficulties separate.
addedDemo Patch Notes[Optimizations] ●More cinematic camera angles for Super Strikes, chosen dynamically. ●Smoother camera logic and collision detection for all your dynamic camera moves. I’m in the final stretch of development, your feedback is also more valuable than ever. If you’re new, don’t forget to add Spirit X Strike to your Wishlist. Thanks again for all your support, and I can’t wait to see your highlight gameplays! Until next time!
